SUMMARY

The Operations Specialist will play a vital role in deploying and managing Bitcoin miners, executing special projects, and providing operational support within the Tactical Operations team. This position is responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of miners, supporting project execution, and training of operations personnel. Your efforts will directly contribute to MARA’s operational efficiency and have a direct impact on $100-$200 million in revenue across U.S. mining sites. This role is crucial to the success of MARA’s rapid site operations growth. This role requires extensive domestic and international travel – up to 75% – is required for this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Miner Deployment & Management:

  • Execute the deployment and configuration of Bitcoin miners at mining sites, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with miners to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Ensure that miners are regularly maintained, updated, and optimized for performance and reliability.

Special Project Execution:

  • Manage and execute high-impact special projects, ensuring they are completed on time and meet business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements or new technologies for site operations.
  • Support the scaling of operations as new projects are initiated and site requirements increase.

Operational Support & Personnel Training:

  • Provide hands-on support to site teams to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the mining equipment and infrastructure.
  • Train and mentor site personnel on the best practices for miner management, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in maintaining detailed records of operational procedures, project milestones, and training materials for team use.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:

  • Work closely with the Site Operations team to ensure all equipment is functioning at peak performance.
  • Contribute to the identification and implementation of improvements to site processes and operational workflows.
  • Ensure operations adhere to safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience

  • 2-4 years of experience in Bitcoin operations or technical support roles, ideally in industries such as mining, technology, or energy.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Familiarity with electrical and data center safety regulations and protocols.
  • Strong understanding of Bitcoin’s technology, Bitcoin mining hardware, and operational processes for large-scale data center operations.
  • Strong experience with project management and coordinating high-impact initiatives in fast-paced environments.

Skills

  • Ability to lift 50lbs over one’s head.
  • Ability to travel international and domestically – up to 75%.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with mining equipment.
  • Strong communication skills for training site teams and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A results-driven approach to problem-solving, with the ability to adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Programming / scripting (plus)
  • Previous experience with Bitcoin mining machines (plus)
  • Electrician or electrical engineer background (plus)
  • Plumbing or construction (plus)
