Title: Operations Manager - R&D
Reports To: Managing Director
Location: Remote (periodic in-person meetings)
Role Overview:
We’re searching for an Operations Manager to help us maintain our position as an innovative authority. The ideal candidate will have operations experience and strong skills in developing and overseeing work plans. The Operations Manager will also prepare and present updates regularly to relevant management channels, ensuring that our goal of innovation is achieved.
Objectives
- Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
- Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
- Communicating with executives to keep the project aligned with their goals
- Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change
- Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation
- Establish and maintain relationships with relevant client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes
Responsibilities
- The Operations Manager will work as part of the R&D team to ensure exceptional service
- This role is an integral part of our R&D service line team to ensure ongoing projects are completed timely, efficiently, and that our colleagues & clients are well served
- This position reports to the Managing Director – R&D, and will work with other leaders and colleagues across the Company
- Assists the MD, R&D with all tasks including reviewing and evaluating business procedures and implementing improvements to day-to-day operations, including automation where applicable
- Support in day-to-day coordination and management of business operational activities for R&D
- Collaborate with MD, R&D to execute departmental and organization-wide goals
- Oversee monthly billing and collection initiatives, including direct conversations with CFO’s responsible for billing
- Oversee profitability & realization initiatives, including direct conversations with CFO’s responsible for billing
- Participate in and lead ad hoc special projects related to client economics including client success meetings
- Execute and maintain clear and accurate operations documents and procedures for reference purposes
- Assist with creating presentation materials and content
- Observe, review, and execute processes to provide recommendations on inefficiencies and areas where improvements can be made
- Assist with the overall operations of the department including project scheduling, resource planning, deadline management, and team support
- Other projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management, Business Administration or related field required
- Four + years' experience within operations or client services role
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy
- Ability to take direction from multiple sources, prioritize and reprioritize as necessary
- Ability to lead presentations to leaders at various levels
Salary range: $100,000 - $125,000
