Job Title: Operations Analyst

Department: Claims Operations

Reports To: Associate Director of Claims Operations

Position Summary: The Operations Analyst will play a crucial role in enabling operational performance and strategic development of the claims department. This individual will assist with new process implementations, system and technology updates, and contribute to creating a seamless experience for our claims adjusters and our customers. The Operations Analyst will be responsible for running data and queries to help identify trends, volume, gaps, and providing insights that support projections and the overall health of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis: Collect, organize, and analyze data from various sources to understand claims volume and trends. Provide actionable insights to support decision-making and strategy development.
  • Process Improvement: Assist in the implementation of new processes and system updates to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the claims department.
  • Reporting: Generate and maintain reports on key metrics, including claims volume, adjuster performance, and customer satisfaction. Present findings to management and other stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Manage and track progress of ongoing projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with departmental goals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with adjusters, technology, and other departments to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to claims processing, system functionality, and data discrepancies.
  • Goal Setting: Help monitor goals for the claims department, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Perform additional tasks as needed to support the claims operations team.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations, data analysis, or a related role within the insurance industry. Claims experience or knowledge is preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau).
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Experience with claims processing and claim systems is highly desirable.
