Job Summary:

The Navigation Engineer develops and implements navigation algorithms for ANELLO systems that may be utilized on a variety of vehicle types, including ground, air and marine. The position will be integral member of navigation projects from requirements and software architecture to algorithms design, implementation, tuning and validation. ANELLO is creating navigation systems that will address the need for robust solutions in GNSS-challenged and GNSS-denied environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and help craft the vision and roadmap for ANELLO navigation products
  • Collaborate in highly multi-functional environment and work closely with systems, sensor, control, software, simulations, and business-related team members
  • Participate in navigation tasks including system trade studies, component modeling of inertial measurement units (IMU), global navigation satellite systems (GNSS), camera, radar, LiDAR as well as simulation of navigation algorithms
  • Help define requirements for vehicle sensors and state estimation software including sensors selection, voting, monitoring, fault detection, and sensor fusion
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and integrate complex hardware/software systems
  • Contribute to architecture concepts, concept of operations, and technology trade studies
  • Analyze, source, and select sensor solutions for use in the navigation system
  • Give technical presentations and provide technical support to ANELLO team members

Experience:

  • BS (MS or Phd preferred) in Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or other related fields
  • 3+ yrs experience in sensor signal processing and sensor fusion algorithms (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
  • Experience prototyping algorithms in Matlab, Python, Julia or similar tools
  • Proficiency in C, C++ and Python
  • Experience with GNSS aided inertial navigation system and performance analysis of navigation systems and navigation state error estimation with knowledge of optimal state estimation filters such as Kalman Filter and Extended Kalman filter (EKF)
  • Solid understanding of state estimation techniques: state observers, Kalman filter, nonlinear state estimation
  • Exceptional organizational, presentation, and communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in modern software development workflows and practices, including version control, build and test systems, and peer review
  • Strong mathematical skills and experience implementing mathematical frameworks
  • Understanding of classical and modern navigation methodologies
