Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical components and systems for LFP battery energy storage systems (BESS)
- Develop and validate mechanical designs through simulations, prototyping, and testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with electrical and thermal management systems.
- Conduct performance analysis and optimization of mechanical systems to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate mechanical designs and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Analyze test data and implement design improvements based on results.
- Manage mechanical engineering projects from concept to production, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to source materials and components.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in the design and development of mechanical systems for battery energy storage systems, specifically lithium iron phosphate technology.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials science, and thermal management.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD).
- Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the integration of mechanical, electrical, and thermal systems in battery energy storage applications.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to battery safety and performance.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials selection for energy storage systems.
Base pay is one part of our total compensation package at Gotion, and is determined within a range. This provides you with the opportunity to progress as you grow and advance your career at Gotion. The base pay range for this role is shown below, and will depend on your skills, qualifications, experiences, and location.
Expected Pay Range
$90,000—$120,000 USD
