Overview
As a member of our Strategic Finance team, you will play a critical role in driving the strategy, insights, and financial modeling that enable the company to scale. The team is comprised of “Olympic decathletes” (exceptional across disciplines) who partner with the CFO and senior leadership to set and measure drivers for the business, solve diverse business problems, and implement operational projects at scale. We seek incredibly talented generalists who can engage at the most senior levels while still sweating the details.
Responsibilities
- Drive projects across Go-to-Market, Product, Supply Chain, Operations, and G&A functions. We expect interns to tackle 3-4 projects over the course of the internship.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to help solve complex problems. This could be anything from building new models to improve how we drive the business, solving sourcing and refurbishment problems in Taiwan to setting up a sales recruiting machine in Tampa.
- Strategy and Financial planning: Help drive our financial planning processes and adapt the topline forecasting models, improving visibility and predictability of both our quarterly results as well as the company’s long term trajectory.
- Get sh*t done! Be comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting into the weeds to drive impact on a daily basis… we knock out today’s problems while also balancing our need to build for the long-term
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a full-time MBA program graduating in 2026.
- Ability to work at Verkada HQ in San Mateo, CA for Summer 2025.
- 2-5+ years of top tier professional experience. You’re coming to us from a Strategic Finance, Business Operations, Private Equity, Investment Banking, or other highly analytical role at a fast growing startup.
- High analytical horsepower paired with strong financial modeling skills. You can effortlessly translate business concepts to well structured spreadsheet models, and are excited to learn new analytical tools and generate insights through data.
- High attention to detail and strong strategic instincts. You are meticulous in ensuring your and others’ output is precise and error-free, but pair this with a strong sense for 80/20 to know when things “pass the smell test” and what is critical vs. secondary to an answer.
- A growth mindset and comfort with ambiguity. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment that will require you to create structure out of ambiguity, manage often competing priorities, and pivot quickly when circumstances change.
- Excellent communication and partnership skills. You can effectively engage with a diverse array of stakeholders ranging from sales reps to engineers, and build the credibility, relationships, and buy-in necessary to strike the delicate balance between partnering and constructive challenging that this role requires. Fantastic written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- A team player with a low “ego to smarts ratio”. You bring a positive, learn-it-all (not know-it-all) energy to your teams, and are generally known for being great to work with. Life is short… we want to enjoy the time we spend with our colleagues!

Pay Disclosure
At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate’s skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting base pay may be above or below this range. Base pay is also just one component of Verkada’s total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
Estimated Hourly Pay Range
$62.50—$86 USD
