We are constantly asking “why” and “what if” to understand the Bitcoin Mining market more than any other person on earth. 

The Financial Analyst, i.e. Market Intelligence Analyst, will be responsible for producing in-depth analysis regarding the entire mining industry, spanning both listed and unlisted miners as well as the ASIC market and high performance computing industry. The successful candidate will possess excellent financial modeling skills, high attention to detail, and a deep knowledge of Bitcoin and the mining industry.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  

  • Strategic Analysis: Develop and execute strategies to gather, analyze, and interpret data related to Bitcoin mining industry trends, market dynamics, and the competitive landscape.  
  • Industry Trends: Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and technological advancements impacting Bitcoin mining.  
  • Modeling: Create detailed financial models of competitors that include profit and loss statement, statement of cash flows, and balance sheet under multiple scenarios.  
  • Forecasting: Develop models to predict mining profitability, network difficulty, and future trends.  
  • Competitor Analysis: Monitor and assess competitors’ mining operations, efficiency, and profitability.  
  • Risk Assessment: Identify risks and opportunities in the mining sector, considering factors like hash rate fluctuations, energy costs, and geopolitical developments.  
  • Market Research: Conduct in-depth research on mining hardware, energy consumption, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies affecting the Bitcoin mining ecosystem.  
  • Data Mining: Extract meaningful insights from large datasets and  financial models. Consider operational  metrics as well as industry conditions that may affect business conditions and valuation. 
  • Reporting and Insights: Present findings to senior management, providing actionable recommendations for optimizing mining operations.  
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and technology, to align market intelligence with business goals.   

QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE    

  • 2-6 years experience in research, economics, finance, or a related field.  
  • Proven track record in market research, competitive intelligence, or financial analysis; experience with data visualization tools 
  • Excellent financial modeling skills that span discounted cash flow and multiples valuation. 
  • A passion for Bitcoin and a deep understanding of the Bitcoin mining ecosystem, including knowledge of large publicly-traded bitcoin miners, ASIC manufacturers, and third-party service providers. 
  • Ability to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and draw actionable insights.  
  • Intrinsic motivation and a strong entrepreneurial spirit – you take charge, solve problems, and challenge the status quo. You never stop asking questions and “why?”  
  • Strong written and verbal communication, especially for presenting findings to senior management and stakeholders; high attention to detail. 
  • Aptitude in cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with third-party vendors, partners, and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and mutual success 
  • Integrity, empathy, curiosity, and a sense of humor. 
  • Must possess knowledge of complex securities like convertible notes and warrants.  
  • Business proficiency in Arabic, Russian, Spanish, French, or Chinese is preferred but not necessary.  
  • A background in investment banking, semiconductors, the energy industry or high performance computing and data centers is preferred but not necessary.
