Job Description:
What You'll Do

  • Responsible for leading the delivery of Discover's supplier onboarding process including performance management and continuous improvement activities. Responsible for managing and leading a supplier onboarding team responsible for facilitating requests through Discover's supplier onboarding process while ensuring adherence to corporate policies and third-party risk management requirements. Partners with Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) oversight team in ensuring that the onboarding activities align with the execution of the strategic direction of the third-party risk management program and complies with TPRM policies and procedures. Partners with Sourcing and Corporate Transaction teams to identify and execute process improvement and optimization opportunities including low complexity contracting and tail spend reduction programs. Communicates with Business Partners to address all questions relating to Supplier onboarding.


How You'll Do It

  • Facilitates requests through the supplier onboarding processes for new suppliers, new engagements, and modifications to existing contracts. Assists business stakeholders in submitting third party portal requests and internal risk assessments, and project planning and tracking the progress of requests throughout the end-to-end process.
  • Provides leadership and direction for the assigned supplier onboarding team. Manages team performance and administrative duties to achieve team goals. Manages workflow through the delegation and reassignment of work activities. Ensures a superior level of client service.
  • Serves as a point of escalation for their team on how to handle challenging supplier onboarding issues. Monitors user feedback on a regular basis and escalates issues as appropriate.
  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day third-party risk management onboarding activities within the Company which includes the review of all incoming requests, facilitation of risk review meetings, and coordination across Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) oversight, Advisory Attorney, and Risk SME teams to ensure the initial risk assessment is completed. Partners with Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) oversight team in ensuring that the onboarding activities align with the execution of the strategic direction of the third-party risk management program and complies with TPRM policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for expanding and leading programs to handle low complexity contracting and tail spend reduction by working closely with Corporate Transactions and Sourcing teams.
  • Partners with other relevant senior stakeholders (AP, Sourcing, TPRM, etc.) to identify opportunities to streamline business processes, reduce costs, mitigate risks, and add value to the organization through continuous improvement of Discover's supplier onboarding process.


Qualifications You'll Need
The Basics

  • Bachelors Business Administration and Management or related
  • 6+ years Risk Management, Financial Services, Process Improvement, or related

  • Masters Business Administration and Management
  • 8+ years Risk Management, Financial Services, Process Improvement, or related

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $91,000.00 to $153,400.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
