Job Overview
Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is searching for a Manager of Quality Engineering to join IVANS. In this role, you will oversee a team of quality engineers, ensuring that products and processes consistently meet established quality standards by implementing quality control measures, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues, ultimately aiming to deliver high-quality products that meet customer expectations and delivery industry-leading software solutions, tools, and/or platforms.
What You'll Do• Work closely with the quality engineering leadership team to align organizational goals and initiatives.• Lead a team of quality engineers or SDETs to solve complex testing challenges.• Ensure test designs, manual and automated, adhere to the overall company development architecture and quality assurance principles• Collaborate with team members across product, architecture, development, DevOps, testing teams, and customer-facing teams in designing testing approaches• Promote and support the implementation of TDD and BDD• Play an active role in supporting the development, maintenance, and improvements of test automation frameworks for UI, Microservices & API• Able to provide in-depth analysis to resolve technical issues, mitigate risks, and ensure timely management escalation• Work with stakeholders to plan, estimate, and implement both functional and non-functional test strategies that strive for bug prevention and zero defect effort• Report and use quality metrics to drive continuous improvements in quality engineering• Evaluate and recommend software testing technologies• Create technical documentation relating to test architecture, design steps, integration processes or procedures.• Participate in technical and UI/UX design meetings to ensure clear direction in areas of responsibilities• Can understand, operate, and mentor others, with existing automated tests in modern DevOps fashion.
What You'll Need to Succeed
We're looking for someone who:• Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office
Your experience should include some or all of the following:• 7+ years of software engineering and testing experience• Able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies and Agile testing• Track record of working and implementing TDD and BDD• Working knowledge of software development languages, such as C#, .Net, Python, Go, Node Js, as well as JavaScript or Typescript• Working knowledge with automated or manual testing, with UI and/or API layers, such as SOAP, REST/RESTful, web, and mobile application testing• In-depth knowledge of common automated testing tools such as Cypress, K6, etc.• Working knowledge of microservices, cloud computing, and related technologies, such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Apigee• Understand and be able to construct modern test strategies and quality gating policies within CI/CT/CD pipelines using Gitlab• Bachelor's degree in the areas of Computer Science, technology, or related disciplines
