The Legal & Policy Team is Snap’s dedicated in-house law firm, policy consultant, advocate, thought partner, and all-around advisor. This team helps Snap do the right thing the right way, make better decisions, understand and manage risks, and creatively navigate challenges, both external and internal. We’re looking for a Policy Manager to join the Platform Policy team at Snap Inc.!

 

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure that our content and product policies meet and exceed regulatory requirements and align with Snap’s mission and values.

  • Maintain a firm grasp of internal operational and product functions to support the policy requirements for new and existing content formats and product features.

  • Represent the Policy team in cross-functional initiatives, including on topics related to issues concerning user safety, monetization policies, and developer integrations.

  • Stay informed about current and emerging public policy trends relating to online content platforms, content moderation, and technology generally.

  • Review new features and products. Lead research for developing new policies that would help sustain best-in-class policies across our products and community and understand emerging policy risks .

  • Collaborate with the Platform Integrity and Product teams to resolve critical policy escalations and develop safety solutions and strategies.

  • Analyze how creators, advertisers, and everyday users interact with our unique content surfaces, including augmented reality, the Map, Discover and Spotlight.

  • Liaise with the Public Policy team to understand of the present and future regulatory landscape, and to share your strategic perspective.

  • Develop and iterate on content policies to ensure regulatory preparedness and mitigate business risk.

  • Partner with global teams to ensure consistent operationalization of policies across distinct geopolitical and sociocultural contexts.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to complete sophisticated projects with a variety of partners and a proven track record of managing complexity between subject matter, types of projects, and responsibilities.

  • Excellent communication skills, strong decision-making skills and sound political judgment.

  • Works well with business teams to identify pertinent issues important to their objectives and orient teammates to meet priorities responsibly.

  • Ability to work independently/ self-starter in a fast-paced, multicultural, and rapidly changing environment.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience in relevant field

  • 6+ years relevant policy experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in working at the intersection of operations, policy, and law

  • Experience in content policy and/or online safety issues

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $157,000-$235,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $149,000-$223,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $133,000-$200,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
