About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Electrical Engineering to manage our electrical engineering design efforts. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the electrical design aspects of our data center facilities, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and scalability.

Travel required to various data center sites. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage electrical engineering initiatives for our data centers.
  • Oversee the design of electrical systems for our new data center facilities.
  • Develop and implement electrical engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, and project management to ensure complete and cohesive coordination of our electrical data center infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance electrical performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate on budgets, schedules, and resources for engineering projects.
  • Assist with identifying areas for improvement on processes and procedures of electrical design and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Work closely with 3rd party consultants and vendors to ensure compliance with Basis of Design and Company Standards.
  • Review Design Drawings, Specifications and Shop Drawings submitted for owner’s review.
  • Actively participate in a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Professional Engineering license preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in data center engineering.
  • Proven track record of successfully completing data center design projects.
  • Strong knowledge of data center electrical systems, such as Substations, Emergency Generators, Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS), Lithium Ion Battery Plants and Fire Alarm.
  • Be familiar with Emergency Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) and/or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems with the ability to develop controls sequences and monitoring protocols.
  • Experience with large-scale, high-density data centers and cloud infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Uptime Institute, BICSI, or similar) are a plus.
  • Applicants must have work authorization that does not require sponsorship from the company now or in the future.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $170,000-$190,000. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
