As a member of the Studio Technology Team, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of products and software solutions supporting our production, content operations and marketing teams.
We are looking for a talented Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team to lead the Studio's media applications and shared services. This role is a key leadership role responsible for the development and management of software solutions and product strategies for our B2B applications supporting media fulfillment as part of the Studio's content supply chain. This role is vital in shaping the technological future of our business and media technologies and requires a deep understanding of software engineering principles coupled with strong people leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and People Management: Lead, mentor and grow a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership and technical excellence. Provide performance feedback, conduct regular one-on-one meetings and support career development for team members. Recruit, onboard and retain top engineering talent.
  • Technical Oversight and Delivery: Oversee the design, development and deployment of scalable, high-quality software solutions. Ensure best practices in software engineering, including coding standards, architecture design and system reliability. Collaborate with technical leads and senior engineers to drive technical strategy and decision making.
  • Platform Expertise: Demonstrate expert knowledge in AWS platform tools and technologies. Leverage these tools effectively to build and maintain high-quality applications.
  • Technology and Business Alignment: Skillfully balance the use of platform technologies with specific business needs. Ensure that technology solutions align with business strategies and goals.
  • Project and Process Management: Work closely with stakeholders and product managers to align engineering efforts with business objectives. Drive agile methodologies sprint planning and efficient execution of development cycles. Work with project management to manage project timelines, dependencies and risks to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with other engineering teams, security, and infrastructure to ensure system integrity and reliability. Advocate for and drive the adoption of shared services, reusable components and best practices. Align with leadership on roadmap prioritization, resource allocation and strategic initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Innovation and Technical Strategy: Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices to guide team direction. Encourage a culture of experimentation, innovation and learning. Drive technical initiatives that enhance efficiency, scalability and security.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of industry experience with a strong focus on application and shared services development
  • Extensive experience with AWS platform tools and technologies.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing software development teams.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • An understanding of the digital media supply chain including planning, ordering and fulfillment, ideally within the context of a studio or another media and entertainment organization
  • Certifications in AWS or related technologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.


The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $167,700 to $224,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
