As a LiveOps Game Director, you will own data-driven design for Platform LiveOps at Roblox, focusing on platform events. Roblox platform events are limited-time, online, platform-wide challenges that usually involve different objectives, creators and player rewards. We are looking for an authority on live operations, game analytics and products who will be instrumental in helping design, develop and execute successful platform events, deploying best in class strategies. You will report to the Head of LiveOps. 

You will:

  • Understand our players deeply and advocate for platform events that resonate
  • Help identify long-terms goals, success metrics, and baseline KPIs 
  • Work with Roblox Design, Engineering and various community developers to build and deploy best in class systems and features that enhance player progression, competitive features, and event economies
  • Develop data driven strategies, with data science partners, to measure the impact of implemented strategies and features, player behavior, and performance and communicate insights 
  • React to real-time player feedback, making rapid adjustments to the strategy 
  • Help identify inefficiencies and provide long term solutions in product and tooling development
  • Own the economy, incentives and progression systems for all platform events
  • Advise and implement strategies on other LiveOps functions (e.g., Home Page curation)  

You have:

  • A passion for game development, analysis and production
  • 12+ years of experience in game industry product management for free-to-play games and other consumer facing products
  • Expertise in free-to-play monetization features, live operations and managing complex game ecosystems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate the “why” instead of just the “how” and “what”
  • Experience in game design and ability to shape positive player behavior
  • Analytical mindset and strong proficiency in data tools 

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$258,200$293,230 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
