Roblox is looking for an experienced Counsel, Litigation to join our Legal team. In this role, you will provide management and support for a variety of litigation, disputes, and investigations, including employment, consumer protection, product liability, insurance, and intellectual property disputes. You will report to our Head of Litigation.

Location: The position is seated at Roblox Headquarters in San Mateo, CA. Roblox’s mandatory in-office days are Tuesday through Thursday with optional in-office days on Monday and Friday.

You Will:

  • Collaborate with and manage outside litigation counsel
  • Advise cross-functional teams on litigation strategy and risks
  • Coordinate and actively participate in internal discovery activities and subpoena responses
  • Handle small claims and single-plaintiff arbitration matters
  • Address pre-litigation disputes
  • Assist internal investigations
  • Support Legal department and team related projects, as assigned

You Have:

  • 3-5+ years of broad, complex litigation experience
  • Law firm experience required, with technology company experience preferred
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and risk assessment
  • Strong and effective drafting skills
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
  • Practical business acumen, driving pragmatic business-oriented solutions
  • A highly approachable, collegial, and collaborative approach
  • Accountable and proactive self-starter, comfortable working independently
  • Superb organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once
  • Experience in a fast-paced and dynamic organization is helpful
  • Member in good standing of the California Bar or another bar association with the ability to register as in-house counsel in California

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$247,260$291,720 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).

Hybrid Workspace

Employees engage in a combination of remote and on-site work.

We are requiring employees to be in the office three days a week – with core days being Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Mondays and Fridays, employees may choose to work remotely, although the office will still be open.
