As a first year Associate, within the Liquidity Risk Management (LRM) Risk function team, you will be part of the Firmwide Liquidity Risk Management team and responsible for liquidity risk related matters, including monitoring, forecasting, reporting, policy setting and regulatory risk management for JPM Firmwide. The independent CTC Risk group partners with other internal risk groups, Corporate Treasury, as well as senior management, to formalize funding strategies through normal and stress market environments. In addition, the team frequently interacts with external regulators.
Job Responsibilities

  • Undertake analysis of Firmwide JPM daily balance sheet changes to assess liquidity risk impacts under various internal and regulatory prescribed stress testing scenarios (e.g. Liquidity Coverage Ratio, Net Stable Funding Ratio etc) and provide independent viewpoint and commentary
  • Develop and present material for risk committees highlighting key trends and areas of interest to senior management
  • Conduct reviews of Firm's liquidity risk and work closely with first line (Liquidity management) and Line of Business Treasury teams to ensure liquidity risk is appropriately understood, managed and communicated
  • Monitor firm's balance sheet through limits and indicators that are designed to control and monitor liquidity risk. Undertake recurring reviews to ensure limits and indicators remain appropriate
  • Articulate key evolving risks to senior management in easy to understand manner.
  • Undertake process improvements and innovation to facilitate improved speed and accuracy in delivery of daily/weekly risk commentary and assessments


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in banking industry across treasury or liquidity risk; Candidates with experience in risk management across other risk stripes e.g. market risk, credit risk can also apply and will be considered
  • Strong analytical, investigative problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Comfortable with detailed independent analysis, critical thinking and strong ability to challenge status-quo
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in explaining technical concepts.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with automated solutions, such as Alteryx, Python, or desire to learn
