About the role

At Thatch, we’re building a new way for modern businesses to offer great health benefits. We’re taking a fresh approach with backing from some of the world’s top investors (Index, a16z, Google Ventures, General Catalyst) and a team of early builders from Stripe, Rippling, Ramp, Brex, and Shopify.

We’re seeking a Growth Engagement Manager who can blend technical proficiency in the latest go-to-market tech stack with a data-driven approach to designing and running multi-channel engagement programs. You’ll also need to bring creative and an AI-first thinking to craft highly engaging messages and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

You’ll be responsible for developing, testing, and executing omni-channel marketing strategies across the entire customer lifecycle, from activation to revenue and member engagement. You’ll work closely with cross-functional partners, including Sales, Demand Gen, Product Marketing, Growth Engineering, and more. The ideal candidate will be a customer-first thinker, with a drive for excellence and bias for action and outcomes.

What you'll do
  • Engagement marketing strategy: Own the end-to-end activation and lifecycle strategies across different verticals, segments, and product offerings (Brokers, Employers, Members).
  • System and tech stack: Architect and optimize a scalable lifecycle marketing system—including marketing automation, CRM tools, and data pipelines (e.g., ActiveCampaign, Salesforce, Segment).
  • Reporting and measurement: Develop the reporting and measurement data systems to gather insights and learnings to improve our engagement marketing program.
  • High-quality communications: Develop, iterate, and maintain high-personalized prospects, customer and member-facing communications.
  • Experimentation process: Design, test, and optimize A/B experiments to drive prospects (employer and broker) activation and member enrollments.
  • Cross-functional work: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable and robust engagement marketing systems across all our lifecycle marketing stack.
  • In-house engagement AI expert: Stay up-to-date with AI trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our engagement marketing strategy.
Background we're looking for
  • 5+ years of lifecycle marketing experience, with 2+ years of experience in B2B and/or B2B2C roles engaging business audiences, with a preference towards the SMB and Mid-Market segments.
  • Expertise in end-to-end omni-channel campaign development, execution, and measurement for learnings and impact.
  • Deep experience in reviewing and reporting on data, identifying actionable insights, and applying that into strategy.
  • Experience with marketing automation systems like ActiveCampaign, SFDC, CDP tooling like Segment and project management tools like Linear.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in presenting results to an executive team.
  • Have a low ego, deep curiosity, an appetite to build, and employ good judgment in making hard trade-offs with limited resources.
Experience we’d be particularly excited about
  • Previous experience at a fast-growing startup.
  • Experience leveraging AI for engagement marketing strategies, enhancement and personalization.
  • Knowledge of any of the following services: Web and product analytics (GA4, Mixpanel, Metabase), CRM (ActiveCampaign, SFDC, Sendgrid)
What to expect

We interview rigorously based on integrity, talent, and drive; the trust we display in our teammates from day 1 is a reflection of the confidence we have in this process. We aim to evaluate the things you’ll be doing every day as best we can, and we move quickly. We will conduct the following interviews:

  • 30 minute Zoom meeting to talk about Thatch, your background, and answer any questions about the role.
  • 30-45 minute Zoom meeting to hear more about your experience and how you'd approach working in the role.
  • Four 30 minute zooms with additional Thatch teammates to access your skill sets.
  • 30 minute Zoom meeting with our founders to discuss your approach to culture and our operating principles.
  • Final 30 minute call to answer any outstanding questions.
