Eastern Standard Time is preferable. We will consider applications in other time-zones with the understanding that the individual will be working with colleagues across the US and Western Europe. 

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate, drafting and structuring commercial agreements including:
    • the acquisition of sports data
    • the supply of oddsmaking services 
    • the licensing of Swish intellectual property; and 
    • any other contractual arrangements required by Swish
  • Ensure  compliance with sports betting licensing conditions and, where applicable, assist in the application for new sports betting licenses 
  • Assist with the implementation of Swish’s legal and strategic policies on cutting-edge and sensitive opportunities, risks and industry trends
  • Manage external legal and business advisers, consultants and other subject matter experts to drive value from these relationships whilst being mindful of legal budgets
  • Provide general in-house legal services to Swish leadership and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Member of a State Bar in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5 years as a practicing lawyer. 
  • Experience practicing in the sports betting or sports data industries
  • Extensive experience negotiating and drafting commercial agreements. 
  • Experience negotiating SaaS licensing agreements, technology transfer agreements, acquisitions, etc.
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to work in a variety of areas associated to a sports technology company
  • Have a collaborative attitude and work both individually and within a commercial team. A willingness to accept challenges and work creatively is essential
  • Ability to work independently and balance multiple tasks in various areas with minimal oversight.
  • Personable, excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Base: $140-180,000
