The Trust & Safety (T&S) Team plays an important role in protecting our Snapchatters from content that violates our terms of service or Community Guidelines — while constantly embodying our values of Kind, Smart, and Creative. The T&S team helps create a safe platform experience so that all of our users around the world are empowered to enjoy their experience on our platform, every day. This role is on the T&S Enablement team which works cross-functionally with our Product, Engineering, Policy, and Legal teams to keep Snapchatters safe on our platform. This will be an individual contributor role.

We're looking for a Trust & Safety Lead to join the Trust & Safety team! 

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver key projects within the Trust & Safety Operations roadmap, including execution; measured progress; and presenting results to stakeholders throughout

  • Regularly identify opportunities to enhance internal processes and improve efficiency, while driving longer-term scalable automated solutions

  • Design and implement new operational workflows and track progress via a project plan, consider stakeholder impacts and help them adopt the change

  • Lead policy operations for specific harms, including driving opportunities for improvement to enhance comprehension, creating & enhancing knowledge management documentation, delivering trainings, and resolving policy gray areas or gaps

  • Ensure policy alignment across global external vendors and internal teams by utilizing data analysis & feedback loops to drive continuous quality improvements

  • Act as key point of contact for all aspects of T&S operational tooling solutions, managing and prioritizing new features on the roadmap and working closely with our Product and Engineering teams to implement fixes

  • Intake, assess, and triage tooling bugs, ensuring timely resolution to minimize disruption to global T&S operations. 

  • Test new and existing tooling features, identify tooling opportunities, provide recommendations for improvements, and liaise with technical teams to implement solutions

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to align efforts to improve impact of end-to-end product development and process effectiveness

  • Be willing and able to work with sensitive, offensive, or disturbing issues and content that includes but is not limited to child exploitation, graphic violence, self-injury, and suicide which may be considered offensive or disturbing

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience managing multiple projects end to end, demonstrating the ability to prioritize tasks, track deliverables and work independently with minimal supervision

  • Experience working with content moderation or online operations tooling and working closely with Product / Engineering to manage projects that improve safety and user experience

  • Strong analytical skills, including working with large data sets to solve business problems, and providing practical business insights (Advanced EXCEL, Google Sheets, etc.)

  • Experience in process optimization projects and identifying performance improvement or automation opportunities

  • Highly attentive to detail, with ability to accurately analyze lengthy legal documents

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience managing requests from multiple stakeholders and prioritizing features / bugs accordingly

  • Shown ability to work directly with all cross-functional teams and management

  • A team player who’s willing to get their hands dirty and help where needed, no type of work is “beneath” you

  • Self-Starter – takes initiative to identify opportunities to improve or build on processes and work products

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in online operations, tooling, content moderation, project management, product management, consulting, or equivalent relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years working directly with highly technical engineering teams

  • 1+ years of Zendesk Admin Experience 

  • 1+ years of Trust & Safety experience a plus, but not required

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $130,000-$196,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $124,000-$186,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $111,000-$167,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
