Are you passionate about pioneering organic growth strategies and pushing the boundaries of SEO? NerdWallet is seeking a Lead SEO Specialist to join our dynamic team! In this leadership role, you'll be at the forefront of developing and executing innovative SEO strategies that align with our company's growth objectives. You’ll collaborate with a team of talented marketing managers and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure NerdWallet stays competitive in the digital landscape. Your primary responsibility is to drive innovation, manage the SEO team, and ensure the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to organic traffic and revenue growth. This role will report to the Head of Organic Growth.

Where you can make an impact: 

  • Define and implement a robust organic user acquisition strategy focused on SEO and content optimization
  • Prioritize top opportunities and align efforts across product, content, and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution of growth initiatives
  • Conduct market research to uncover new traffic growth opportunities that align with the product roadmap
  • Communicate and promote high-impact acquisition plans across different audience channels
  • Design and implement rapid testing frameworks to improve site engagement and membership conversion
  • Utilize analytics tools to generate business insights and inform strategy
  • Forecast audience growth and identify trends and opportunities for driving incremental revenue
  • Own the organic user acquisition top-line ensuring accountability for key metrics and effectively communicating strategic initiatives and actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Provide regular performance reports and updates to senior management
  • Enhance the user journey by addressing consumer pain points through data-driven analysis
  • Implement UX improvements to increase engagement and conversion rates
  • Implement innovative SEO strategies to maintain and enhance search engine rankings

Your experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in SEO
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering business outcomes or products that move the needle on company metrics
  • Experience building strong cross-functional partnerships as a thought leader within an organization
  • Experience building content roadmaps with Content teams
  • Experience with analyzing consumer needs and pain points and split testing to create a user-first experience
  • Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Experience working in financial services or equivalent knowledge of personal finance

$112,000$204,000 USD
