We are looking for a lab assistant whose primary role will be to help maintain our lab’s cleanliness, organization, and improve the ability for our scientists and engineers to execute precise, quality work. As the lab assistant gains experience, they will also be trained to execute processes and help the team in a technician-type role. This role offers exposure to working in a microfabrication, chemistry, physics and hardware lab environment. The ideal candidate will learn the basics in many different areas. 

Role responsibilities:

  • Organize, clean, and maintain lab spaces
  • Support and assist engineers as required
  • Maintain and track chemical waste and material inventory
  • Eventually contribute to and execute processes independently

Key qualifications:

  • Degree or experience in microfabrication, physics, or chemistry
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong desire to learn and high level of curiosity
  • High bias to being “hands-on”
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years of experience in lab environment

Salary/Pay Range:

Science is required under California law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.  We determine your level based on your interview performance and make an offer based on the indicated salary band. The base salary range for this full-time position is $24-$35 per hour + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please keep in mind that the equity portion of the offer is not included in these numbers.
