The Opportunity

We are seeking an IT Lead to champion all aspects of our business IT operations—from defining policies and streamlining support processes to managing end-user computing. Unlike traditional IT roles that oversee physical networks and on-premise infrastructure, your focus will be providing hands-on support while optimizing our cloud-based systems (email, communications, collaboration tools, etc.), establishing right-sized security and access policies, and building and executing repeatable frameworks for hardware procurement, mobile device management, laptop and end user technical support. In short, you will build and maintain the foundational IT processes that empower our team and accelerate our growth. Given our fast-moving environment, prior experience in an early-stage startup or high-growth company is highly valuable, ensuring you can navigate ambiguity, build scalable IT solutions from the ground up, and adapt to evolving business needs.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, document, and enforce right sized policies for security, access control, data management, hardware acquisition, mobile device management, and software usage to ensure compliance and protect sensitive company data.
    • Implement and maintain security hardening across endpoints, cloud services, SaaS applications and patch management for both company-owned devices and BYOD mobile devices
  • Provide remote first and second-level technical support and troubleshooting for Google Workspace and other company software; Windows, macOS, Chrome OS and iOS and Android mobile devices
  • Evaluate, select, and manage external technical support vendors and IT service providers to fill any gaps in internal support.
  • Oversee and optimize the cloud-based systems used for day-to-day operations (e.g., Google workspaces, collaboration tools, productivity suites) ensuring they are secure, reliable, and integrated with business processes.
  • Establish and execute best practices for user access management, authentication, and security monitoring across all cloud business productivity applications.
  • Create and manage a centrally coordinated end-user computing strategy—including hardware acquisition, configuration, lifecycle management, and mobile device management—to support a distributed workforce.
  • Develop a responsive support model for internal IT issues, provide guidance, troubleshoot, and train, or coordinate with external partners as needed.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their technology needs and translate them into scalable, secure solutions that drive achievement of company objectives and key results.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline IT processes, ensuring that our technology environment evolves in step with our evolving and aggressive business objectives.
  • Lead initiatives to mitigate cybersecurity risks and develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans tailored to our cloud-first environment.
  • Act as the go-to expert for IT-related challenges, providing guidance and support to end users.
  • Establish training programs and documentation to ensure employees maximize the value of business systems.
  • Standardize IT processes to improve efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Report to executive leadership on the current status and planning for security controls, technology improvements, and efficiency opportunities.

Who You Are

  • You possess a strong blend of strategic vision and tactical expertise, with experience designing and executing IT policies and processes that enable business growth.
  • You have experience working in early-stage startups or high-growth environments.
  • You understand cybersecurity risks and best practices, ensuring data integrity and compliance with industry standards.
  • You understand the nuances of managing cloud-based business systems and can craft security and access policies in an environment with minimal legacy constraints.
  • In a dynamic, fast-paced setting, you’re capable of developing solutions with limited resources—leveraging both internal insights and external partnerships.
  • You excel at collaborating with cross-functional teams, translating technical details into actionable business insights, and leading change initiatives.
  • You thrive on building foundational IT frameworks from the ground up, preparing the organization for both immediate needs and long-term scaling.
