💻 Role

Marketplace, nested within our Commerce org, exists to build the world’s most connected marketplace for enthusiasts. The team focuses on essential components that enhance Whatnot’s customer experience, such as Inventory and Purchase Formats. Within Marketplace, the Marketplace Experience team is committed to crafting a fun and engaging buyer’s journey by providing the necessary tools for frictionless shopping on Whatnot. This includes features like Checkout, Listing Page, Seller Shop, Buy It Now, and Flash Sales. Looking ahead, the team is poised to innovate and expand, ensuring an ever-evolving and dynamic marketplace for all users.

Team members in this role are required to be within commuting distance of our San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, or New York City hub.

As our next iOS engineer on Marketplace Experience, you should have 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience in high growth startups, plus:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• iOS expertise in creating fluid, responsive user interfaces, working knowledge of Swift 6 language features, and experience with reactive and declarative paradigms.
• Product Instinct: Excel at translating user needs to effective technical solutions.
• Problem Solving: Thrive in ambiguity and tackle challenging problems with creativity and autonomy.
• Team Leadership: Proactively improve the team environment and foster inclusive, supportive team culture.
• Ownership Mindset: Own projects holistically from inception to production and beyond. You are known for shipping high-quality products and features lightning-fast.

💰Compensation

For US-based applicants: $185,000/year to $245,000/year + benefits + equity

The salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills and expertise. This range is only inclusive of base salary, not benefits (more details below) or equity.
