Roblox is seeking an Indirect Tax Technology Manager responsible for supporting the development, growth and expansion of product offerings and new go-to-market initiatives globally. The individual will lead the implementation, enhancement and maintenance of indirect tax technologies and is responsible for the implementation of an indirect tax engine. The role will leverage technology tools to solve business problems, query and analyze data sets, evaluate and implement efficiencies, and processes as they relate to indirect taxes.
This full-time role is on a hybrid schedule based in our San Mateo, California office reporting to the Global Indirect Tax Director.
You Will:
- Be responsible for and manage global indirect tax technology including the global implementation of an indirect tax engine
- Identify and articulate the indirect tax technology needs
- Build and strengthen relationships and scale with the growth of business teams to ensure integration with business functions, bring tax awareness and champion tax requirements
- Work closely with product management and engineering teams with new product and go-to-market initiatives
- Provide indirect tax support for end-to-end full life cycle of product deployment, including but not limited to design review, testing, launch, tax functionality, reporting and compliance
- Configure and maintain tax automation software to ensure accurate and efficient tax calculations and compliance
- Manage relationships with third-party tax automation software and service providers
- Collaborate with finance, product, engineering, and other teams to ensure the tax automation software meets business and product needs and integrates seamlessly with other systems
- Partner with the business and external tax advisors in identifying and prioritizing indirect tax issues and opportunities
You Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, MS in Tax or equivalent education and experience
- Prior or current CPA, CA or ACCA designation preferred.
- 5+ years of indirect tax experience with a public accounting firm and/or corporate tax department.
- Technical knowledge of sales and use tax and global VAT/GST systems, and proven experience handling indirect tax with digital products and ecommerce
- Experience with tax engine implementation and compliance software
- Established record of supporting new products and initiatives go-to-market in a fast-paced environment in relevant industries
- Broad-based understanding of tax and accounting fundamentals and related processes
- Deep analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong interest in technology and its use in business processes
- High attention to detail to complete projects timely
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with Power BI, Alteryx or other automation tools
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$156,270—$191,440 USD
Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
