Role Description: The VP of Product at MagicSchool will define, implement, execute, and track on product roadmap initiatives aligned to company goals and KPIs.  This role is also responsible for ensuring that what gets built is both valuable and viable.  The head of product is responsible for building out our processes for planning, investigating, and product discovery (user testing, analysis, data).

Responsibilities:

1. Product Vision & Multi-Line Strategy

  • Shape and articulate a forward-looking product vision across multiple product lines, ensuring each aligns with company objectives, market trends, and customer needs.

  • Balance short-term tactical goals with long-term strategic priorities to accelerate growth and market differentiation.

2. Multi-Line Roadmap Leadership & Execution

  • Drive a cohesive roadmap that prioritizes high-impact initiatives across multiple product lines, coordinating with engineering, design, and marketing to ensure flawless execution.

  • Adapt and evolve the roadmap in response to emerging market opportunities and feedback, fostering alignment across all teams.

3. Cross-Vertical Expansion & Market Penetration

  • Lead efforts to enter new verticals, identifying growth opportunities, validating hypotheses, and tailoring product offerings to meet distinct market demands.

  • Work closely with go-to-market teams to craft and implement strategies that maximize product adoption and revenue potential in new verticals.

4. Build & Scale the Product Organization

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of product managers, ensuring scalable processes and best practices fit for a fast-growing, multi-product environment.

  • Cultivate a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning within the product team, promoting alignment with company goals.

5. Stakeholder Alignment & Communication

  • Serve as a strategic liaison with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, delivering transparency, data-driven insights, and ensuring alignment on product decisions.

  • Regularly communicate product strategy, progress, and metrics to foster buy-in and visibility across the organization.

Qualifications/Competencies/Skills
  • Strategic Vision & Market Insight: Ability to set and communicate a clear, compelling vision that scales across product lines and aligns with both company objectives and market needs.

  • Analytical Rigor & Data Mastery: Expert in leveraging data for decision-making, with a commitment to KPI-driven prioritization and a deep understanding of customer insights.

  • Inspirational Leadership & Talent Development: Skilled at building, leading, and retaining high-performance product teams, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and customer-centric culture.

  • Advanced Communication & Influence: Adept at storytelling and distilling complex information for varied audiences, creating alignment and buy-in across leadership and operational teams.

  • Operational Agility & Decisive Execution: Proven track record of fast, high-impact decision-making, especially in scaling products across diverse customer segments and growth phases.

Experience
  • 8+ years in senior product leadership, managing full lifecycle of products in complex, high-growth environments with multiple product lines.

  • 4+ years managing and scaling multi-line product teams, with a proven ability to foster a customer-driven culture that balances innovation with measurable outcomes.

  • Startup & Scaling Experience: Background in Series A/B startups, driving accelerated growth and scaling across verticals.

  • Vertical Expansion & Go-to-Market: Demonstrated experience identifying, validating, and driving multi-vertical product expansions with a successful track record in market penetration.

  • EdTech Knowledge (Preferred): Understanding of EdTech market dynamics, trends, and regulatory considerations.
