The Opportunity 

This role is ideal for a proactive, data-driven leader with a track record of scaling  teams in fast-paced, high-growth tech companies. As Head of People, you will  partner with executive leadership to design and execute a people strategy that aligns  with Wonderschool’s growth, culture, and core values. You’ll be responsible for  fostering a performance-driven, collaborative, and inclusive workplace, ensuring  every team member is empowered to thrive. 

Key Responsibilities 

Build a High-Performance Culture 

  • Culture of Openness – Promote transparency and open dialogue, empowering employees to tackle challenges and share ideas freely.
  • Data-Driven Performance Standards – Implement structured, quarterly performance reviews with measurable goals, reinforcing a culture of urgency, ownership, and excellence. 

Foster In-Office Collaboration 

  • Hybrid Culture – Develop and sustain an engaging in-office experience that strengthens cross-functional collaboration and innovation.
  • Team Engagement – Launch initiatives to maximize employee connection and team cohesion, making in-office days high-value.

Enhance Recruiting, Retention & Employer Brand 

  • Tech-Focused Talent Strategy – Scale a high-performing, diverse, and mission-aligned workforce, leveraging data-driven recruitment practices to attract top SaaS and marketplace talent. 
  • Retention & Engagement – Develop structured employee feedback loops, using insights to optimize engagement, career development, and retention.

Lead Team Offsites & Executive Alignment 

  • Strategic Leadership Events – Organize monthly executive offsites and bi annual company-wide events to drive alignment, innovation, and culture building.

Strengthen Compliance & HR Operations 

  • HR Compliance & Risk Management – Oversee HR policies and legal compliance across federal, state, and local levels.
  • HR Tech & Automation – Implement scalable HR systems that enhance efficiency and data-driven decision-making.

Organizational Design & Leadership Development 

  • Leadership Growth – Develop a leadership training framework to support managers in leading high-performing, values-driven teams.
  • Org Design & Scalability – Regularly assess and optimize organizational structure to support business expansion and agility.

Ideal Candidate Profile 

  • Tech & Growth-Stage Expertise – Experience leading People Ops in a SaaS, marketplace, or high-growth tech environment.
  • Exceptional Judgment & Communication – Ability to navigate complexity, influence leadership, and communicate with clarity.
  • Data-Driven & Scalable Mindset – Comfortable using HR analytics and automation tools to drive efficiency and strategic decision-making. • Commitment to High Standards – Sets ambitious goals, tracks progress, and adapts quickly in a fast-moving environment.
