Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced marketing leader to join our team as our Head of Marketing. You'll directly shape our marketing strategy and execution, partnering closely with our CEO Charlie to bring our family storytelling mission to millions. This role is designed for an aspiring CMO genuinely energized by early-stage startup pace. You'll lead customer acquisition and drive sustainable growth across all channels.

This role is hands-on, requiring someone equally passionate about strategy and tactical execution. You'll split time between managing vendors/contractors and executing yourself - developing campaigns, analyzing performance, and making quick decisions. The ideal candidate thrives in an environment that is lean, scrappy, and focused on fast experimentation. If your comfort zone is primarily managing large teams or extensive resources at big companies, this role likely isn't a good fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with our CEO Charlie to develop and implement marketing strategies that align with company goals and drive growth and brand awareness.
  • Lead all user acquisition initiatives and develop scalable growth strategies across digital platforms, optimizing CAC and LTV metrics.
  • Lead CRO initiatives to improve customer journey and purchase pathways through A/B testing, landing page optimization, and checkout process refinement.
  • Own the measurement and analysis of marketing metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness, track ROI, and leverage data insights to optimize future initiatives.
  • Lead a high-performing marketing team, starting with 5-10 vendors/contractors today, with an eye towards growing our team with time.
  • Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, and Customer Experience.
  • Help shape the company's brand identity, ensuring consistency across all channels while making strategic decisions based on company values.
  • Drive successful product adoption through effective go-to-market strategies, compelling positioning, and targeted campaigns.
  • Develop and execute a compelling content strategy across multiple formats to educate, inspire, and convert potential customers.

Experience

  • 7+ years of marketing experience, specifically in direct-to-consumer companies focused on growth.
  • Proven track record working in early-stage companies (Seed to Series C), with close proximity to the founding team.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in lean, fast-paced startup environments, personally executing campaigns, analyzing results, and rapidly iterating with limited resources.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Deep understanding of direct-to-consumer marketing strategies and digital acquisition channels.
  • Experience building and leading marketing teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Clear and effective communication skills; ability to communicate complex concepts simply to diverse audiences.

Location & Work Environment

We operate with a hybrid model, three days per week in-person at our Culver City office. At this early stage, we deeply value face-to-face collaboration and believe it’s crucial for rapid, creative iteration. If spending time brainstorming with teammates at our office whiteboard excites you, you’ll love it here.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive compensation based purely on skills and experience, plus meaningful equity (standard terms: 1-year cliff, 4-year vesting).
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Flexible PTO policy.
  • Empowering culture with significant internal growth opportunities for top performers.

Our Philosophy

We deeply believe that diverse, equitable, and inclusive teams elevate us all and enable us to better serve our customers. We're committed to creating a welcoming work environment for people of all genders, sexual orientations, ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, and life experiences.

Research shows that women and systematically marginalized groups are less likely to apply unless they meet every listed qualification. If you think you could excel in this role but aren't sure you meet every qualification, we strongly encourage you to apply anyway. If you require specific accommodations during the interview process or if you join our team, please let us know.

Hiring Process

To ensure a great fit, our hiring process will include structured interviews and a practical marketing case study. This will help us directly evaluate your hands-on analytical and strategic marketing skills and allow you to experience firsthand the type of impactful work you'll be doing here at Remento.

Who Will Thrive (And Who Won’t)

  • You'll thrive if... you're genuinely excited to roll up your sleeves and handle tactical execution yourself; you have a strong intuition for consumer marketing, and you understand how to build effective growth strategies that acquire and retain customers.
  • 🚩 You might struggle if... your primary experience is managing large teams or extensive marketing resources at heavily resourced organizations; or you prefer to delegate detailed execution and analysis to others.
