About The Role:

As the Head of Billing Operations, you'll oversee every aspect of the billing cycle, from generating invoices to collecting payments. You will lead a team of billing analysts, implement best practices, and continuously enhance our billing systems and processes. Collaborating closely with other departments, you will support the growth and scaling of our organization. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining accuracy and efficiency while delivering an excellent customer experience.

What You'll Achieve:

  • Manage and optimize the end-to-end order processing, billing, and collections, streamlining workflows and implementing automated systems to increase efficiency
  • Lead and develop a team of billing professionals, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of continuous learning
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all order to cash activities through quality control measures and analytics
  • Implement and maintain billing systems and software
  • Develop and enforce billing/collection policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with sales, product, tax, and finance teams on various initiatives and process improvements
  • Resolve complex billing issues and customer disputes/escalations, developing escalation protocols and implementing preventive measures
  • Drive continuous improvement in billing operations by analyzing performance indicators and leading optimization initiatives
  • Help test and validate billing system updates (UAT)
  • Participate in month-end close and provide insight to leadership on key performance indicators

Skills You'll Need to Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in billing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding of billing systems and financial processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Stripe, Netsuite, Salesforce systems is a plus

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with a high-growth SaaS company
  • Experience using Notion
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Big 4 experience

Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco, the estimated base salary range for this role is $190,000 - $220,000 per year.
