The Group Vice President (GVP), Mid Market and Enterprise Sales will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive go-to-market (GTM) strategy. This role involves leading a team of sales leaders to achieve and exceed sales objectives. The ideal candidate will lead from the front, providing hands-on coaching, fostering talent development, and driving performance. Additionally, the GVP will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure operational excellence.
About this roll* (Responsibilities)
- Lead, coach, and develop sales leaders managing Mid Market and Enterprise accounts.
- Influence the Enterprise product roadmap by collaborating with partnerships and R&D to address customer needs.
- Serve as a brand evangelist, representing our Enterprise customers at conferences, presenting product roadmaps, and building market presence with partners.
- Oversee multiple business units to meet and exceed assigned sales booking and revenue goals.
- Negotiate and close sales contracts in collaboration with Toast’s legal counsel.
- Ensure Sales Leaders understand marketing strategies and effectively communicate product and feature information.
- Share and implement best practices across the sales organization.
- Develop strategic partnerships with complementary service providers to drive new revenue opportunities.
- Manage all stages of the sales lifecycle, from lead generation and client meetings to value proposition development, financial deal structuring, contract negotiation, and closing.
- Provide ongoing insights on industry trends, deal strategies, and sales best practices.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of the competitive landscape to effectively position Toast as a market leader.
Do you have the right ingredients?
- Experience: 10+ years of successful technology or professional services sales leadership experience at the C-level.
- Industry Knowledge: Proven experience in SaaS, restaurant industry technology, and enterprise accounts.
- Leadership: 5+ years of leadership experience (including leading people leaders) with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Sales Expertise: Demonstrated success in managing complex deals, financial structuring, negotiations, and closing with both new and existing clients.
- Process Management: Strong proficiency in managing sales processes, reporting, and tracking.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
- Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

Total Targeted Cash for this role consists of a base salary, commission, plus the eligibility for equity and/or other benefits. This role qualifies for uncapped commissions. The starting salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and geographic location.
