Global Supplier Development Manager

As a Global Supplier Development Manager, a blend of Global Supply Manager and Supplier Development/Quality Engineer your role will entail, but will not be limited to, the following:


Responsibilities:


- Own RFx for Strategic Components: Mechanical, Electromechanical Assemblies, Electronics, Processed Metal/Plastics.

- Negotiate Contracts, Agreements, and Terms & Conditions as needed.

- Own piece price and tooling negotiations to ensure Best-in-class pricing.

- Own vendor selection and engineer supply chain to enable optimum cost and highest quality to meet Nimble’s business needs.

- Actively monitor global industry trends, technology road maps and partner engineering to identify and mitigate Supply/Demand challenges.

- Manage Supplier relationships and performance including but not limited to dispute resolution, supplier scorecards and business reviews.

- Engage with engineering on design reviews, technical discussions and DFM to drive decisions from a cost perspective.

- Participate in supplier DFM reviews & guide suppliers in efficient use of poka-yokes, best methods of manufacturing, testing, and gauging and correct tools or assembly equipment to use.

- Lead cross functional team to manage project timelines, develop/maintain action trackers, schedule to ensure on-time delivery of parts from supplier.

- Communicate key metrics not limited to cost, supply, quality with management teams. 

- Develop and lead action plans to mitigate identified risks in the supply base.

- Build and maintain relationships with cross functional teams and influence decisions with stakeholders to support Nimble’s goals.

- Drive Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for production launch and ensure manufacturing lines meet demand.

- Work with the Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.

- Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions of supplier quality issues.


Qualifications:


- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or supply chain management or equivalent experience. Master’s degree is a plus.

- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, supply chain or supplier quality and/or supplier development.

- Understanding of strategic sourcing, financial and business opportunity analysis, comfort with legal frameworks, and contract negotiation skills

- Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications, with basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality assurance for components managed.

- Understanding of Geometric Design and Tolerancing (GD&T) and datum structures is preferred.

- Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Run at Rates is preferred.


Additional Requirements:

- Ability and willingness to travel domestically & internationally with no restrictions on location.

- Must be willing to work significant overtime hours and on weekends as necessary.
