About Eridan
At Eridan we believe in the power of collaboration and communication to achieve our mission: connect the planet to empower a sustainable, shared future. That mission is possible with our patented transmitter which decreases the cost and power required to roll out 5G by 10x when deployed globally. This is all facilitated through our offices: our Sunnyvale headquarters has big windows (even in the lab!), is walking distance to downtown and the Caltrain, and fits the entire team in the cafeteria for our frequent company parties. About this Job
We are seeking an GaN Circuit Design Engineer to join our team, focusing on the design of circuits for three key applications: RF switching for polar modulation at frequencies up to 10 GHz, wideband linear amplifiers from DC to sub-GHz frequencies, and sub-GHz-range switching electronics for agile power management. All designs leverage Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology, with our product integrating multiple GaN chips to achieve cutting-edge performance. The ideal candidate for this role will play a key role in the development, productization, and commercialization of Eridan’s next generation 4T4R 100MHz IBW Radio Unit (RU).
As an GaN Circuit Design Engineer, you will:
- Gain hands-on experience in all phases of RF circuit design (schematic, layout, verification) for one of the most complex GaN circuits in the industry.
- Utilize Keysight’s Advanced Design System (ADS) for circuit design.
- Contribute to digital and analog system design, GaN packaging strategies, and digital interface solutions.
- Perform system-level analysis and define chip requirements for optimal performance.
- Support design for test and design for manufacturability focus activities for the GaN blocks of the RU RF circuit.
- Participate in design reviews and collaborate on technical and business discussions with foundries.
Qualities of a Successful Candidate:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a focus on circuit design.
- 5+ years of experience designing GaN circuits, or GaAs circuits with an emphasis on RF power circuits.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming using C, Python, MATLAB, or Verilog-A to enable you to control Eridan’s digital RF small cell.
- Ability to optimize component selection for board level design from a combination of data sheets, breadboard validation of data sheet performance, and collaboration with Eridan’s world leading design team.
- Theoretical understanding of RF communication technology and circuit theory.
- Hands-on experience with ADS/AWR RF-Analog Circuit Design for system optimization and collaboration with Eridan’s GaN device design team.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with 5G RU design.
- Experience with designing for embedded software control of software defined radios.
- Familiarity with compact nonlinear modeling and parameter extraction for advanced GaN foundry nodes.
Perks of working at Eridan
- Work on new technology that will make a significant impact on global infrastructure
- Ability to learn, develop, and advance within a flexible environment
- Collaborate with smart, passionate, and helpful co-workers
- Celebrate progress company-wide
