About the role

We are looking for a Founding SDR to join our growing team at Clerkie. Your role will expand beyond executing daily outreach tasks - you’ll be working closely with our SDR Manager to develop messaging, test new and creative ideas, and ultimately figure out the best way to connect with our audience. The ideal person for this role can pivot on the fly, fight through adversity, enjoys thinking outside the box, and can communicate effectively with their team members.

Here’s what you will do

  • Target potential clients and generate quality meetings  through outbound prospecting activities, including cold calling, emailing, and social outreach
  • Conduct thorough research to understand the needs and pains of your named accounts so you can set the strategy for breaking into those accounts
  • Collaborate closely with the SDR Manager to develop and execute new campaigns aimed at increasing our engagement with potential clients
  • Stay updated on the industry trends, market dynamics, and the competitive landscape to help influence our messaging
  • Utilize our CRM (HubSpot) to maintain accurate records of prospect interactions, track progress, and prioritize follow-up activities.

Qualifications 

  • Proven experience as an SDR focused on outbound lead generation
  • Experience as an SDR that has developed and tested outbound messaging, targeted new verticals or personas, and implemented creative outreach methods
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with prospects and work effectively within a remote-first team environment
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Demonstrated coachability, adaptability, and an eagerness to learn and develop

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience going 0 < 1, 1 < 10 at an early-stage startup (Series A - C)
  • Experience with Hubspot or similar CRM tools
  • A love for building
  • A genuine passion for our mission and shared values

Our salary range

$55k - $75k base + bonus. Pay is based on factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and skillset, and location.

Our Process

Our hiring process is intentionally designed for you to interview Clerkie as much as our team is interviewing you. We've built a 5-step process that allows for a two-way assessment across skills, behaviors, values, technical ability, ways of working, and adaptability in a lean startup environment. 

  • Application (async candidate time) 
  • Recruiting Screen w/ People team (20-30 minutes via Google meet)
  • Hiring Manager Meeting w/ our Sales Manager (45 mins via Google meet) 
  • Take-Home Challenge and Live Review w/ 1-2 Sales teammates (challenge is async candidate time, live review is 1 hr via Google meet) 
  • Final Management Meeting w/ a member of our SLT (30 minutes via Google meet)

Before we extend any offers, all candidates must successfully complete a standard background check in addition to a reference check. These checks are conducted in tandem to ensure a safe, secure, and compliant environment for all Clerkie team members and stakeholders. We approach this stage with transparency and sensitivity, and candidates will be provided with clear information about the process.
