About Mach9

Mach9 is pioneering the next era of the surveying and geospatial industry. Our AI-driven platform opens up a world of possibilities for the millions of surveyors and civil engineers responsible for supporting the $3 trillion infrastructure industry. With our market-defining technology, engineers can leverage geospatial data to complete projects faster than ever before.

Our first product, Mach9 Digital Surveyor is transforming the highly-manual surveying workflows by automatically extracting features (such as signs, curbs, and utility poles, etc.) from large-scale imagery and 3D datasets—delivering results up to 96 times faster than today’s labor-intensive process. By dramatically scaling what surveyors can achieve, Mach9 empowers the industry to accelerate infrastructure development, improve decision-making, and fundamentally reshape the way we build and maintain our world.

Mach9 is backed by Quiet Capital, Y Combinator, Overmatch Ventures, Kyle Vogt (founder of Cruise), Amar Hanspal (former CEO of Autodesk), Scott Belsky (CPO of Adobe), Gokul Rajaram (former executive at DoorDash), and more.

Position Overview

We are looking for our first product marketer to work directly with the CEO to define, shape, and build out Product Marketing for Mach9. You'll drive all the core pieces of product marketing and help set the strategy and roadmap for GTM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Launches: Lead product launch initiatives from concept to execution, collaborating with product, sales, and engineering teams to set product launch KPI’s and ensure successful product introductions and market penetration.

  • Product Positioning and Messaging: Lead all aspects of defining and articulating the unique value proposition of our products, ensuring that messaging resonates with target audiences, in close collaboration with CEO and other leaders.

  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs. Translate insights into actionable strategies that inform product development and marketing efforts.

  • Content Creation: Develop high-impact marketing materials, including product collateral, presentations, case studies, and whitepapers, to effectively communicate the value of Mach9’s solutions to various audiences.

  • Customer Engagement: Engage with customers and industry experts to gather feedback, build relationships, and establish Mach9 as a thought leader in the geospatial technology space.

  • Sales Enablement: Create and deliver sales training materials and tools to equip the sales team with the knowledge and resources needed to effectively communicate product benefits and close deals.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Product Marketing Expertise: Proven track record in product marketing at a high growth software company with a strong user community, including experience as the lead developer and manager for new product launch campaigns.

  • Messaging Strategy and Communication: Demonstrated experience at developing written and verbal communication plans for marketing campaigns, with a successful track record of developing compelling narratives and engaging content that resonates with the core user community and translating technical capabilities into benefits-oriented language for marketing and sales collateral.

  • Marketing Content and Creative Development: Proficient at working with a creative partner (internal or external) to develop high-quality marketing content by translating marketing briefs into engaging and effective creative material (in both a social and physical context).

  • Data interpretation: Ability to use metrics, analytics, and KPIs (e.g., lead generation, conversion rates, usage metrics) to gauge the effectiveness of go-to-market efforts and refine tactics.

  • Customer and Market Research: Ability to gather and interpret market data, trends, and competitive insights to inform both product strategy and positioning. Comfortable conducting customer interviews, focus groups, or other forms of qualitative/quantitative research.

  • Digital Marketing Management: Ability to architect a digital marketing funnel - with the help of experts as needed - and be a trusted and productive partner with sales to generate and convert high quality, targeted leads.

We’re not focused on a specific number of years of experience or a particular educational background—what matters most is your ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment. You love tackling complex challenges, managing moving pieces, and driving efficiency as a company scales.
