A Financial Accountant Staff is part of the Shared Service organization which partners with the business units of the Health System and oversees the management and reporting of financial data.
This role prepares, examines and analyzes the company’s accounts, financial records and other financial obligations. Compiles financial statements, reviews data and ensures financial compliance.
The Financial Accountant Staff is responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, accounts payable and receivable, tax returns, bank reconciliations and general ledger reviews.

Experience REQUIRED:
Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in the accounting field
Previous experience with various software applications to include and automated accounting systems, general ledger, spreadsheets, databases, word processing, etc.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven ability to work with all levels of the organization and manage multiple projects at once

Experience PREFERRED
Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively more responsible accounting experience in general accounting or finance
One (1) year of public accounting experience
Demonstrated ability to lead projects to completion
Previous experience with areas within audit, internal controls and six sigma

Education/training REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent work experience

Education/training PREFERRED:
MBA, CPA, CIA or equivalent

Independent action(s) required:
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
