Job Description:
What You'll Do
As an enterprise architect, we work to ensure architecture cohesiveness and drive alignment to both business and technology objectives for initiatives that span multiple product areas and/or LOBs. Has a broad view of products, technologies, processes, and data and how they should work together to deliver business value. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management. As this is for our Open Finance Platform, experience in the Open Banking Industry is strongly preferred.
How You'll Do It

  • Extensive experience designing and maintaining scalable API architectures
  • Proven track record in defining API specifications, authentication models and partner integration frameworks
  • Strong understanding of performance tuning and resilience patterns
  • Deep knowledge of secure data-sharing models and industry standards for financial service APIs
  • Familiarity with open banking and data privacy regulations (including 1033)
  • Skilled at creating clear, well-structured architecture documentation
  • Strong ability to analyze and present trade-offs - e.g. between scalability, complexity, security and time-to-market
  • Ability to drive standardization in API specifications and their implementation
  • Experience in communicating and justifying architectural recommendations to senior stakeholders, review boards, engineering teams and business leaders to ensure alignment and well-informed decision-making
  • Partners with business and IT leadership along with product area architects regularly to understand key business initiatives to ensure product area target architectures are aligned with enterprise architecture and industry strategies.
  • Provides insights and recommendations to Executive Committee on strategic architectural opportunities.
  • Consult on candidate architectures produced by product areas. Assists and guides product areas through the governance process.
  • Leads and/or contributes to architectures that span across product areas and/or LOBs.
  • Ensures other Enterprise Architects, Domain Architects, and Infrastructure Architects are engaged and strategies are incorporated into target product area architectures.
  • Provides conduit for feedback loop between technology enablers (e.g., EAIS, Security, Data) and Value Streams.
  • Promotes consistent architecture practices across the architecture community. Stays current with industry architectures and best practices and influence enterprise technology strategy and initiatives.


Qualifications You'll Need
The Basics

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in Software Development, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Internal applicants only: technical proficiency of Expert on the Dreyfus Architect scale.


Physical & Cognitive Requirements

  • Primarily remain in a stationary position.
  • No required movement about the work environment to complete the major responsibilities of the job.
  • Primarily performed indoors in an office setting.
  • Ability to communicate verbally.; Ability to communicate in written form.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time.


Bonus Points If You Have

  • Any security certifications
  • Expertise in OAuth 2.0, OIDC, MTLS, JWT
  • Experience with OpenShift or other cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure
  • Extensive experience designing systems deployed on cloud providers such as Red Hat OpenShift, AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with Java and Spring technologies including Core, Boot, and Cloud
  • Experience with Microservices architecture and event driven architecture using Kafka or message service. Both greenfield design and development and evolution or redesign of legacy micro-services
  • Extensive experience in logical and physical design of at least one OLTP relational DB such as Postgres or similar.
  • Experience designing and evolving external facing Restful APIs in fintech or large financial institution
  • Implementing architectural patterns such as Microservices, Pub-Sub, Batch, Guaranteed Delivery, or Event-Driven messaging communication using application integration protocols and technologies including REST, Kafka, Redis and authorization frameworks including Oauth;
  • Ability to act as a technical mentor, guiding engineers and product teams in architectural best practices and integration patterns
  • Experience fostering a culture of structured decision-making and knowledge share/transfer, ensuring that architectural changes are well-documented and widely understood
  • Strong ability to challenge and improve existing processes and assumptions to drive continuous improvement in system design

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $175,500.00 to $242,300.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
