What We're Looking For

Stytch is the platform for user authentication. We create products that make interacting with authentication a delightful experience, both for developers and for customers.

Stytch’s client-side SDKs help developers unlock Stytch’s value quickly & easily. As the Engineering Manager of Frontend SDKs, you’ll be working on the Frontend SDKs team to increase Stytch’s value while delivering great end user auth experiences.

This is a hybrid, full-time position based in the SF Bay Area. We aren’t looking for someone to be in-office 5 days per week, but are looking for someone who is excited to collaborate in-person on a weekly basis (2-3 days per week in-office).

What Excites You

  • Ownership – you are excited about developing and advocating for the best features and roadmaps on our Fronted SDKs. You have a vision for the systems your team works on, but know how to build incremental milestones, and when to make trade-offs between completeness and utility to get to value fast

  • You love code — you’re a pro at building roadmaps and design docs, but you don’t like stopping there. You’re incredibly proud of the code you write and review, and like staying close to the systems you own

  • Shaping the culture and growing the team through recruiting, mentorship, establishing best practices, and empowering engineers on your team

  • Building products that make developer’s lives easier — you’re excited to make our systems easy to use and safe for internal developers, as well as the impact your work will have on Stytch’s customers.

  • Partnering with your team and cross-functional peers to craft strategy and a roadmap that accomplishes our ambitious company goals

  • Fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high performing team culture

  • Learning new skills and technologies in a fast paced environment

What Excites Us

  • 8+ years experience developing and maintaining complex web applications or web SDKs

  • Previous experience building and maintaining mobile applications or a willingness to learn mobile development

  • 1+ years experience managing a team and working with cross-functional stakeholders to maintain a team roadmap

What Success Looks Like

  • Development — provide guidance and mentorship to develop the engineers on your team into future engineering leaders

  • Ownership — build team processes and culture to drive execution

  • Leadership — level up the team and the industry by growing the next generation of Front End SDK engineers at Stytch

Our Tech Stack

  • Go for backend services

  • Node and Typescript for our web services

  • React/Preact, Typescript, Next.js on the front end

  • Swift for our iOS SDK and Kotlin for the Android SDK

  • We run on AWS with Kubernetes for containerization

  • We utilize Github Actions, Flux, ArgoCD for our CI/CD

  • gRPC and protobufs for internal service communication

Expected base salary $210,000 - $250,000. The anticipated base salary range is not inclusive of full benefits including equity, health care insurance, time off, paid parental leave, etc. This base salary is accurate based on information at the time of posting. Actual compensation for hired candidates will be determined using a number of factors including experience, skills, and qualifications.

We're looking to hire a GREAT team and that means hiring people who are highly empathetic, ambitious, and excited about building the future of user authentication. You should feel empowered to apply for this role even if your experience doesn't exactly match up to our job description (our job descriptions are directional and not perfect recipes for exactly what we need).

We are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workspace where everyone (regardless of age, education, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or any personal characteristics) feels like they belong. We look forward to hearing from you!
