Job Overview:

Come join our team of enthusiastic data engineers.  We are responsible for wrangling 500B+ events of business-critical data every single day.  Whether it’s aggregating data for various business uses, working on some latest and greatest features, or improving our applications for future demands, there’s always something new and exciting to learn.

We’re looking for someone with: 

  • Experience with one or both of the following languages: Python, Java

  • Basic understanding of AWS Services (Kinesis, RDS, EC2, ECS, Cloudwatch, etc.)

  • Basic understanding of big data distributed systems (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Kafka)

  • Basic understanding of databases (Snowflake, MySQL, Postgres, Dynamo, Cassandra, etc)

  • Basic understanding of containerized environments (Docker, Podman)

  • Experience with Datadog or other monitoring tools 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Our tech stack:

  • We heavily rely on the AWS Cloud for all of our initiatives

  • Our main application is written in Java and runs in ECS. It’s responsible for pulling event data off of a Kinesis stream, aggregating the data in-memory, and flushing it to S3

  • We have an app downstream of that that runs on an EC2 instance.   It is responsible for consuming those S3 files, updating an RDS instance, and flushing the aggregates to various databases. (Snowflake & RDS)

  • We have several other apps/scripts that are mostly written in Python and are responsible for auxiliary tasks.

In California, the base salary range for this position is: $95,000 - $105,000 in addition to an annual variable bonus based on performance and company equity (NASDAQ: MGNI).

In Colorado, the base salary range for this position is: $80,000 - $100,000 in addition to an annual variable bonus based on performance and company equity (NASDAQ: MGNI).

In New York, the base salary range for this position is: $95,000 - $105,000 in addition to an annual variable bonus based on performance and company equity (NASDAQ: MGNI).
