Group Summary:
The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the development, implementation and updating of quality systems and procedures
  • Participate in the development, continued completeness and accuracy of:
    • Process Flow Chart
    • PFMEA
    • Control Plan
    • Applicable quality inspection instructions
    • Applicable departmental standardized work
    • Applicable quality records
  • Champion the investigation of concerns or complaints reported by the customer in order to identify and correct quality systems failures using the PPSR Process to completion and sign off
  • Travel to Customer as required to investigate concerns or complaints
  • Continually observe and evaluate the manufacturing process with the goal of identifying opportunities to prevent failures or non-conformance
  • Interact with Program Manager as appropriate to ensure manufacturability and accurate GD&T/drawings
  • Coordinate, execute, document, and report process capability studies leading to the development of a stable capable process at time of PPAP
  • Ensure safe storage of approved master samples, and the creation and distribution of authorized surrogate master samples
  • Assist and train other Quality and Production personnel in the use of equipment and test methods as per the work instruction
  • Ensure that all specifications and requirements are documented in the appropriate inspection documents through the DCC process (QSI database)
  • Coordinate and create the PPAP documentation package
  • Participate in on-site launch support at the customer manufacturing location as required
  • Responsible for ECN approval participation
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace
  • Comply with the requirements of C-TPAT/PIP
  • Conduct business in an ethical manner in compliance with the Magna Code of Conduct
  • Report all accidents/incidents and unsafe conditions/behavior
  • Adhere to applicable quality systems and IATF 16949 standards
  • Adhere to and promote the Employee Charter and work within the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Plastcoat Employee Handbook
  • Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards
  • Ensure work area is kept neat and organized
  • Perform other duties as required


QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:

  • Minimum completion of College diploma in a technical field, or equivalent experience


EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in a Quality role in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in automotive industry an asset


SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of SPC, IATF-16949, prints, GD&T and other automotive quality systems requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate in MS Word and spreadsheet programs
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills
