Internship Overview

We are looking for interns to join us for our 2025Summer Internship Program! This 12-week program is set to begin June 2nd, so if you are looking for an incredible opportunity to partner with the best and brightest minds in the industry, apply today. This program has been designed with our interns in mind and includes structured learning plans, a dedicated buddy, and a focused capstone project that you will have the opportunity to present in our Internship Showcase!

 

What It’s Like Interning with Us!

  Social Events— just because the internship is remote, doesn’t mean we don’t have time for fun! Recognizing the international nature of the program, we prioritize fostering global connection and networking opportunities among all the interns who participate. In the past, we have hosted remote events such as tie-dye shirt event, tiny camp fire—complete with smores(!!!), a murder mystery party, and so much more

▪ Time with Executives— Interns all get a chance to connect with our executive team through panel discussions, 1:1s, Q&A meetings, and events

  Workshops & Leader Connects — Interns all participate in Leader Connects where they get to learn more about Leaders in HCLSoftware, as well as workshops geared towards new professionals

Opportunity to travel – we will be hosting a hybrid orientation! For those that are interested in being in person for orientation, we will fly you to your closest resident office.


Position Overview

As a Documentation Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting our technical writing team. You will assist in creating and maintaining high-quality documentation that guides users in understanding and utilizing our database products effectively. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in technical writing, project management, and database technologies.

 

Capstone Overview

Project Objective: Working with our documentation team, we need to evaluate how to progress our documentation for a better look and feel, and also evaluate if we can use AI within the documentation.



Technology Stack: Our documentation uses FrameMaker, Oxygen, Markdown, WebWorks, and other tools. We need to evaluate the best options and try to standardize our docs.



Methodology: We have documentation repositories that use Bitbucket. and Git. We need to standardize our processes with new and existing tools, work with our Dev team to be able to have them give input/feedback and then produce our deliverable quickly.



Expected Outcomes: We are looking for a refined look and feel for our docs, opportunities for AI usage, standardizing our approach, and showing some insight and ideas for the future.



Learning Objectives: You should be able to offer guidance and direction in the tools and methodology you use for getting our documentation to the next level. You will understand setting up a doc repository, working with the current tools, and employing some new ideas to showcase our documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineers and product managers to gather information and understand product features
  • Help maintain documentation standards and ensure consistency in style and formatting
  • Participate in user testing and gather feedback to improve documentation usability
  • Research and stay updated on industry trends and best practices in technical writing and database technologies

Nice to have:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Basic understanding of database concepts and technologies is a plus
  • Familiarity with documentation tools (e.g., Markdown, HTML, or documentation software)

Requirements:

  • Must be actively enrolled in a college degree program
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the Country of Employment
