The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Gilead Vice President Global Talent Acquisition, the Director Global Employer Brand will be the strategic employer brand expert across the enterprise, setting the global employer branding and content strategy to ensure competitive positioning in a highly competitive talent market. The Brand Director will hold responsibility for designing and leading all aspects of Gilead’s global employer brand strategy, recruitment marketing, communications & design such as Gilead’s reputation as an employer, and our value proposition to our employees and prospective employees. With a savviness for employer brand marketing, you will use advertising and marketing to articulate Gilead’s EVP in a way that resonates externally to attract talent and partnering internally to retain the right talent. The Brand Director is will be an individual contributor leading teams, initiatives and projects across the matrix.
This is an onsite role based at our Foster City, CA campus (three days onsite and two days offsite.
The Role:
The Employer Brand Director will:
• Define, develop and evolve the employer branding framework and the brand segmentation (including Kite EVP) and go-to-market tools, aligning the approach with various HR & talent functions, brand and Public Affairs and key business units and leaders.
• Lead targeted global recruitment marketing campaigns and equip local teams with the skills, tools and guardrails to create and drive best in class campaigns.
• Design and implement the global social media ecosystem for Talent Acquisition and establish the Gilead digital footprint for recruitment marketing, drawing upon best practice knowledge, experience and collaboration with external recruitment branding partner.
• Manage the creative design, communications and embedding of toolkits, templates, guidance and assets for global and local teams, ensuring impactful and consistent execution of brand experience & messaging.
• Partner with Public Affairs on guidelines and governance around the creation and maintenance of careers websites, Talent Acquisition social media channels and recruitment campaign microsites.
• Collaborate with various internal stakeholders on the effectiveness, design and communication of program materials and collateral that impact key moments that matter in the employee journey in alignment with our EVP.
• Act as a trend-spotter and influencer in innovative employer brand strategy and design
• Define and consistently measure KPIs for employer branding and recruitment marketing effectiveness.
Basic Qualifications
Master’s Degree and 12+ years of related experience
OR
Bachelor’s Degree and 14+ years of related experience
High School Degree and 18+ years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in an international / global organization

Deep experience in employer branding, brand communications and/or marketing and communications roles, increasing on responsibility with each role in an organization at scale

Recognized innovator in the social/digital space. Innovative thinker with strong expertise in digital marketing, social media strategies, and content creation.

Experienced in leading projects involving internal and external creatives and business partners and utilizing design skills (e.g. ideation, typography, layout, color theory, contrast, spatial, visual presentation/speaking skills)

Strong global mindset, with preference for having worked across different countries / regions

Knowledgeable about diversity & inclusion from an employer branding perspective and understanding of Inclusivity in hiring

BA/ MA degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related studies

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to ideate and write stories. Including the ability to recognize, write and inspire great copy

Demonstrate strong business acumen with the ability to translate business objectives into Talent Acquisition / HR priorities

A business partner with the experience and confidence necessary to work with senior executives, HR leaders, and employees at all levels to deliver results

Ability to exercise judgment and independently determine and take appropriate action where precedent may not exist

Inspire culture and institute key processes necessary to achieve long and short-term strategic goals

The salary range for this position is: $210,375.00 - $272,250.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
