Calix provides the cloud, software platforms, systems, and services required for broadband and communications service providers to simplify their businesses, excite their subscribers, and grow their value.

This is a remote position that could be based anywhere in the United States.

Calix SmartLife is a family of Wi-Fi Managed Services that enables service providers of all sizes to transform the relationships with their subscribers and the communities they serve by pivoting from speed-based offers to high-value experience-based solutions. In particular, Calix addresses the Enterprise market with purposeful-build Wi-Fi solutions.

We are seeking passionate, energetic, and collaborative Product Management leader to join our SmartLife team to lead the software products for Enterprise Wi-Fi.

The successful candidate will work in a cross functional team to identify new opportunities and lead the features that will help Calix win those opportunities. We are seeking a leader that understand the Enterprise business in North America and globally and is expert in the technologies and network architectures used in Enterprise Wi-Fi.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Own all aspects of product management for Venue and Outdoor Wi-Fi solutions, involving both inbound and outbound deliverables, including vision, strategy, partner contracts, roadmap, quarterly releases, positioning, and packaging.

  • Engage with prospects and customers to understand their needs and requirements, and deliver on the product vision, enabling customer adoption and success.

  • Work with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver amazing features and user experiences. Including use case documentation and discussion with development teams.

  • Drive product decisions based on quantitative rationale and a positive fixation with subscriber quality of experience.

  • Identify and resolve conflicts, inter-dependencies, and program issues quickly and efficiently.

  • Excite and motivate team members about their product vision to execute on features.

  • Make product tradeoff decisions and prioritize features to balance the strategic and business objectives of the company with product roadmap and resource constraints.

  • Work with Partners and cross organizational disciplines such as Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Solution Test, Support, and Success.

  • Bring subject matter expertise to the product team as well as other parts of the organization.

  • Be an evangelist externally and internally with customers, sales, marketing, and engineering to educate, and ultimately enable, these groups to promote and support your products' positions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 10+ years of Product management experience.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.

  • Exceptional presentation skills and ability to persuade others on a point of view.

  • Proven experience to create, maintain and grow partnerships and drive development organizations to execute product requirements.

  • Proven experience in the dense Wi-Fi, large usage, Service Providers, and Networking Applications domains.

  • Proven experience in a technology organization, delivering across strategic, operational, and tactical aspects of product management.

  • Technical competence to drive decision making with engineering organizations.

  • Strong technical and business domain expertise in solutions for campus networking, large venue Wi-Fi, MDU dense Wi-Fi, domain controllers, Wi-Fi roaming, advanced Wi-Fi access standards, and Fixed Wireless Access, for outdoor spaces with focus on users’ end-to-end experience.

  • Demonstrable ability to think outside the box to resolve technical issues and resource conflicts.

  • Demonstrable strong technical background, with focus on Wi-Fi technology and experience.

  • Proven experience with Agile methodologies, authoring user stories, writing clear requirements, Confluence, and Jira.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS degree and or MBA.

  • 15+ years of Product management experience.

  • Proficient understanding of Enterprise networks and their operational requirements.

  • Proficient understanding of B2C and B2B2C GTM models, as well as MSP business model and technical requirements.

Compensation will vary based on geographical location (see below) within the United States. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education.

There are different ranges applied to specific locations. The average base pay range (or OTE range for sales) in the U.S. for the position is listed below.

San Francisco Bay Area Only:

230,000.00 - 391,000.00 USD Annual

All Other Locations:

200,000.00 - 340,000.00 USD Annual
