The Company:
With deep expertise in chemistry, Nuvalent is working to create selective medicines designed with the goal to address the needs of patients with cancer.  Nuvalent is an exciting early-stage company, bringing together experienced scientists and industry veterans with a proven track record in drug discovery, oncology drug development, and company building. 

The Role:
Reporting to the Vice President, Information Technology, The Director of Infrastructure is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the enterprise in use by Nuvalent, as well as the physical infrastructure in use at Nuvalent’s facilities.  In addition, this role is responsible for overseeing our support operations and evolving this function as the organization moves toward commercialization.
This position will collaborate closely with IT business partners, cybersecurity, business stakeholders, and vendors to support risk management programs, optimize IT infrastructure, and integrate emerging technologies to support business objectives. This role demands a combination of strategic vision and hands-on execution, overseeing vendor relationships, managing service providers, and leading internal IT initiatives to support business growth.

Responsibilities:
•    Manage and evolve our IDM environment
•    Work closely with our cybersecurity group to optimize our security profile and assist with management of enterprise security platforms such as endpoint protection, email filtering, and patch management.
•    Manage our Microsoft 365/Azure environment including the administration of Exchange
•    Manage our AWS environment
•    Oversee the relationship with our MSP (for both daily operations of the IT helpdesk and enterprise software we obtain through them) and related support applications
•    Oversee IT support operations, managing MSP to ensure SLA performance and end-user satisfaction.
•    Establish IT support KPI’s (eg – ticket resolution times, uptime metrics, etc) and ensure continuous improvement.
•    Develop and refine ITIL based help desk processes, including escalation protocols and self-service solutions.
•    Manage all enterprise level platforms, desktop applications and mobile utilities, including content collaboration tools
•    Assist with the development and oversight of the Nuvalent enterprise data governance program
•    Support SOX and GxP related activities including the preparation for and participation in audits and inspections
•    Develop Infrastructure related Policies, SOPs, Work Instructions, Knowledge Base Articles and End User Training.  Architect, implement, and maintain hybrid cloud and on-premises IT infrastructure to support Nuvalent’s growth.
•    Support networking, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.

 
Competencies Include:

•    Effective leadership in helpdesk operations. 
•    Flexibility with changing priorities, ability to work well under pressure, and taking on unfamiliar tasks is required
•    Ability to strategically plan, organize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously is required
•    Strong work ethic with an ability to meet deadlines is required

Qualifications: 
•    Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology or equivalent work experience is required
•    Experience working in a highly regulated environment which is subject to SOX and GxP requirements.
•    Experience with AWS and Azure platforms
•    Experience implementing and administering IaaS and physical networking solutions
•    Experience with Storage, Backup and Disaster Recovery Solutions
•    Experience with Change Management and Qualification of Infrastructure
•    Working knowledge of automation via PowerShell or other scripting languages
•    Experience developing a comprehensive strategy for deploying, monitoring and updating workstations and mobile devices
•    Extensive experience with identity management, content collaboration and Microsoft 365
•    Strong working knowledge of cybersecurity and network security concepts and solutions
•    Experience with Jira Service Management preferred
•    Extensive experience of managing support operations and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
•    Some off-hours or evening work may be required
•    Periodic travel may be required
