PrizePicks is seeking a motivated and experienced (Senior) Director of Gaming Regulatory Compliance to lead the development, implementation, and management of our gaming regulatory compliance program within the daily fantasy sports (DFS) landscape. A successful candidate will ensure that PrizePicks maintains its compliance posture across all jurisdictions, navigating the evolving regulatory environment and supporting the company's continued growth. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a hands-on leader, and a subject matter expert in gaming regulations, with a proven track record of building and managing gaming compliance programs.

What you’ll do:

  • Regulatory Program Leadership: Develop, implement, and enhance PrizePicks' comprehensive gaming regulatory compliance program, including policies, procedures, internal controls, training, and audits. Represent PrizePicks in regulatory discussions, industry associations, and compliance forums to stay ahead of trends.

Provide comments and feedback to regulatory bodies to ensure alignment with industry best practices and PrizePicks' business needs. Oversee gaming compliance requirements for third-party vendors, including banks, FYC providers, payment processors and independent testing labs.
  • Licensing Management: Oversee all aspects of state-by-state DFS licensing, including applications, renewals, compliance testing (e.g., GLI), audits, and ongoing communication with regulatory bodies. Provide strategic guidance on new market entry and expansion.
  • Team Development: Contribute to the operation of a high-performing regulatory compliance team, defining roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations, and mentoring team members to ensure effective regulatory oversight.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams (product, marketing, legal, engineering, customer support) to ensure cross-functional alignment and compliance. Maintain internal compliance database covering applicable regulations to support the Compliance department’s role as internal subject matter expert on DFS compliance.
  • Policy Development and Maintenance: Develop, refine, and maintain policies and procedures relevant to the DFS space, conducting regular reviews and gap analyses.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular risk assessments, policy gap analysis, and compliance reviews to identify potential vulnerabilities and implement effective mitigation strategies. Provide guidance on necessary adjustments.
  • Inquiries: Manage responses to regulatory inquiries, working closely with the Director of Enterprise Compliance on consumer protection issues.
  • Product Compliance: Review proposed new game types and features for compliance with state gaming laws and regulations, providing strategic guidance on game design and development.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to license applications, compliance programs, and regulatory interactions, including use of third-party software.
  • Compliance Reporting: Develop and deliver regular reports on compliance activities, risks, and trends to senior management.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to employees on relevant gaming regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Incident Management: Establish protocols for reporting and investigating potential compliance violations, ensuring timely remediation and corrective action.

What you have:
