About the Role: 

*We are seeking someone Boston based for this role. Ideally this person can come into office one or two days a week.*This role will play a pivotal role within the Finance organization at Abacus Insights. Reporting to the AVP of Finance, you will focus on overseeing everything finance here at Abacus. You will serve as a trusted source of all things Finance to key internal and external stakeholders. 

You Will: 

  • Own Company Financial Model
  • Own Company Budget & Forecast cycles
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to evaluate business performance, identify trends, and uncover opportunities for improvement
  • Own key financial metrics and indicators, providing detailed insights into variances and recommending corrective actions as needed
  • Business Partnering at executive level: Collaborating closely with different departments across the organization to understand business needs and align financial plans with strategic objectives. Serving as a trusted advisor to the leadership team.
  • Reporting & Presentations: Develop clear and concise financial reports, including dashboards and presentations, to communicate key financial metrics to leadership.  
  • Constantly drive improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Strategic Planning: Own long-term strategic planning by providing financial analysis and insights.  
  • Own various reporting: Investor, Bank, Audit, Board, etc.
  • Stakeholder in vendor management cycle & negotiations
  • Sales Support: Create & maintain commission plans, quotas, assisting with pricing analyses, etc.
  • Perform various ad hoc projects for the business
  • Manage and lead a high performing team 

What We’re Looking For: 

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in FP&A, Finance/Accounting or Strategic Finance roles (Healthcare/SaaS/Tech bonus)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights
  • Extremely proficient in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and spreadsheet software (Excel)
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Experience with financial systems/software as well as leading software implementations
