About This Role:

As a Development Engineer, you will play a critical role in expanding Crusoe's natural gas power generation portfolio by leading the development of natural gas supplies and post combustion carbon capture. You'll work on the Gas Origination team to ensure the successful execution of projects, from initial concept to in-service support.

What You'll Be Working On:

  • Lead Gas Pipeline Connection Engineering: Spearhead the engineering efforts for connecting to interstate and intrastate gas pipelines.

  • Manage Right-of-Way Acquisition: Coordinate and oversee the acquisition of right-of-way for company gas pipeline laterals and meter stations.

  • Advance Carbon Capture Technologies: Pursue post-combustion carbon capture opportunities for company gas power projects. Lead the technical development of carbon capture technologies for both Crusoe and partner initiatives.

  • Optimize Power Plant Design: Coordinate the selection of prime movers, equipment allocation, and site emissions requirements to optimize plant performance.

  • Forecast Equipment Needs: Forecast long-lead equipment needs and timing for upcoming gas power projects.

  • Provide Engineering Support: Offer technical expertise to various business development and deal teams throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with Project Management: Work closely with the project management and engineering teams to ensure deal parameters are met and project goals are achieved.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • Proven Project Management Expertise: Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in an applied engineering role, demonstrating a strong track record of successful project management from concept to in-service support.

  • Deep Gas Pipeline Knowledge: Possess a thorough understanding of gas pipeline codes and standards, with practical experience in the design and operation of natural gas pipelines and gas-fired engines.

  • Carbon Capture Familiarity: Have a foundational understanding of post-combustion carbon capture technologies and their potential applications.

  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex data and identify effective solutions.

  • Team Player with a Growth Mindset: Thrive in a collaborative environment, readily embrace new challenges, and possess a positive and proactive attitude.

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering: Required.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with specific carbon capture technologies (e.g., CCS, CCUS) would be a significant advantage.

  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and permitting processes.

Compensation Range:

Compensation will be paid in the range of $110,000 - $135,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
