Vision
We're creating the shift to voice as humanity's default interface. Why voice? Because voice captures the nuance, the emotion, and the humanity of interactions in ways text alone can't: voice makes technology human again.
Mission
We're building the platform for the future of voice technology. Our market edge is extensible, reliable infrastructure designed for the full complexity of voice interactions. 18 months, 150k developers, adding 1000 every day. Give it a try here
The Role
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Developer Relations Lead to bridge the gap between our platform and the developer community. Today, we run a 12,000 member Discord, have a vibrant Youtube community, and are the platform of choice for voice developers and startups.
So far, this has all been organic. We need your help to invest in our community and help it grow. In this role, you’ll be the voice of our company to developers and technical decision-makers, evangelizing our platform, creating educational content, and building strong relationships to drive adoption and success.
This is a chance to get in on the ground floor of the bleeding edge, to shape our developer ecosystem and make a lasting impact on millions of people.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Advocacy & Evangelism: Act as a public-facing champion of our platform, representing Vapi at various developer platform, events, social channels to inspire developers and enterprises to build with our tools.
-
Community Building: Grow and nurture our developer community by engaging with users through forums, social media (e.g., Twitter/X, Discord), and other channels, while gathering feedback to inform product development.
-
Content Creation: Develop high-quality technical content, including tutorials, blog posts, sample code, documentation, and video demos, independently and with top influencers/YouTube creators to help developers onboard and succeed with our platform.
-
Technical Enablement: Partner with customers and developers to understand their needs, provide technical guidance, and showcase how our platform solves real-world challenges in building voice agents.
-
Feedback Loop: Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams to relay community insights, advocate for developer needs, and ensure our platform evolves to meet user expectations.
-
Metrics & Growth: Define and track KPIs to measure community engagement, platform adoption, and developer satisfaction, iterating strategies accordingly.
What We’re Looking For:
-
3+ years of experience in developer relations, software engineering, or a related technical role, with hands-on experience building or supporting developer tools, APIs, or platforms. Ideally in a startup or tech platform environment.
-
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, from hobbyist developers to enterprise CTOs.
-
Proven experience growing and engaging technical communities, with a knack for building trust and excitement among developers.
-
Experience working with enterprise clients and understanding their needs in adopting developer tools.
-
Self-starter mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment where you’ll take ownership and wear multiple hats.
-
Bonus: Experience with voice agent technologies, AI/ML, or scalable platform products.
Why Join Us?
-
Be a key player in a fast growing startup with massive growth potential.
-
Shape the future of voice technology and empower a global developer community.
-
Work with a passionate, mission-driven team backed by top-tier investors.
