Description:
PingWind is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Database Developer to join Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s (AHRQ) Agile software development team. As a Database Developer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of AHRQ applications and products. Your responsibilities will include developing database code, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software to our stakeholders and users.
Responsibilities:
•Design, develop, and maintain databases and database code
•Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
•Ensure database performance, security, and data integrity
•Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data migration and integration
•Work closely with software developers and analysts to support application database needs
•Troubleshoot database issues and optimize performance using indexing and query tuning
•Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
•Monitor database health, resource utilization, and optimize database configurations
•Stay updated with emerging database technologies and best practices
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and quality software releases
Qualifications:
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Strong proficiency in SQL and database management systems
• Experience with database development tools like PL/SQL Developer
• Familiarity with cloud database services
• Experience with data warehousing and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• CSM or Agile experience preferred
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet project deadlines
• Attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality software
