Description

Chaos Labs is the first automated, on-chain economic security system enabling crypto protocols to optimize risk management and capital efficiency while protecting user funds. We use world-class custom EVM simulations to understand protocol mechanics and scenario implications.

Leading protocols, including Aave, GMX, dYdX, Venus, Uniswap, and more, use our platform and tools to help them manage and secure billions of dollars in assets.

We are looking for candidates eager to explore top DeFi protocols and develop data models and pipelines that drive advanced risk analysis tools. The recommendations derived from these pipelines will be used by industry leaders to make key decisions and ensure the safety and stability of their protocols.

Collaboration is at the heart of our success. You'll work alongside a passionate team of researchers and engineers, all dedicated to building a robust and efficient data platform that is already shaping the future of DeFi.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL pipelines to manage data from various sources, including blockchain networks, third-party APIs, and internal systems.
  • Implement robust data validation and monitoring processes to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and consistency.
  • Collaborate with DeFi researchers to understand their data requirements, provide technical solutions, and integrate data engineering practices to support their research and analysis.
  • Monitor and track public blockchain sources to ensure the collection and real-time analysis of critical data for our products and services.
  • Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, demonstrating the value and impact of data engineering efforts.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5+ years in data engineering roles, ideally within decentralized finance, blockchain, quantitative finance, or related technology sectors.
  • Extensive experience in data modeling, ETL processes, and tools such as dbt, along with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake.
  • Strong experience with Python and SQL is required, and proficiency in Node.js is a plus.
  • Solid background in cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is highly valued.
  • Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex datasets, identify patterns, and extract meaningful insights. Strong problem-solving skills and a keen analytical mindset.
  • A deep passion for blockchain technology and decentralized finance (DeFi). Proven experience working with blockchain-based projects, either professionally or through personal initiatives, is essential.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, dynamic environments with the ability to manage changing priorities. Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies as needed.
  • Proven ability to work independently and thrive in self-managed, fast-paced settings.

Our Perks:

  • Flexible hybrid work environment.
  • Competitive PTO (21 days) + sick days (7) + 8 observed US-company holidays.
  • 100% employer-paid health benefit options (Medical, dental & vision insurance) for you and your dependents.
  • FSA or HSA (pending on selected health insurance).
  • Thoughtful Parental Leave Policy.
  • Corporate wellness programs with OneMedical, Teladoc, Talkspace, EAP.
  • Career growth opportunities at a rapidly expanding, global technology company in an emerging field with personalized professional development.
  • Pre-tax Commuter Benefits.
  • Salary and seniority level commensurate with experience - range: $130,000-$150,000.
