About the Role

As a Data Engineer- I, you will report to a Team Manager/Lead and work closely with a team of several individuals. You will be responsible for running and maintaining data pipelines and producing highly accurate data deliverables for internal and external clients. The best candidates come to the table with a passion for problem solving and the desire to cultivate a positive team culture. In addition, as we are a remote team, the best candidates are highly motivated and trustworthy. We are a small, yet agile company where we can easily take ideas and turn them into reality. The atmosphere is very collegial and team members are given a lot of freedom to accomplish their tasks. Given that, you are willing to do your due diligence, yet be willing to ask for help, work across the organization, and enthusiastically strive to meet client needs by producing high fidelity deliverables on time.

A Day in the Life

  • Collaborate with team, management, departments using virtual tools
  • Run Production data pipelines/processes, ensure the integrity of the data, and send out deliverables based on requirement/runbook documentation
  • Coordinate with the various technical teams to resolve issues/bugs/optimize said production processes
  • Coordinate with internal client facing team members to communicate the status of deliverables
  • Help develop/improve technical documentation to guide future software development projects and operations
  • Dedicated time to explore building out tech stack and capabilities where there are applicable use cases
  • Provide critical thinking, technical innovation, and extra attention to detail by serving as a trusted team member and peer code reviewer
  • Assists with external client communications when deliverables or receivables do not meet technical or project requirements, ensuring timely resolution and alignment 

What You Need

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or tech-adjacent
  • SQL knowledge
  • ETL/ELT/Data pipeline knowledge
  • Python knowledge
  • Powershell / Bash knowledge
  • Excellent problem-solving and effective communication skills
  • Self-motivation, integrity and honesty
