You will enable the development and commercialization of Motional’s self-driving technology as a critical member of the IT team. As we continue to grow and mature, it is essential that our documentation is crisp, comprehensive, and up-to-date. You will work with the leadership team to establish a documentation roadmap and have much autonomy in implementing the strategy. Leveraging best practices, innovation, science, and creativity, you will be organizing the complex topics surrounding IT and cybersecurity into easy-to-access and understand repositories for our employees.
What You’ll Do:
- Write, edit, validate, and maintain comprehensive standards, policies, and procedure documents for the IT and cybersecurity teams.
- Maintain global internal knowledge bases for structure, ease of use, and readability.
- Collaborate with and gather information from internal stakeholders to develop guidance and change management documents.
- Translate complex technical topics into clear, concise, and easy-to-understand content for a non-technical audience.
- Prioritize and manage stakeholder input and expectations across the organization.
- Project manage document creation and update requests.
- Develop, as needed, and adhere to consistent style and formatting guidelines defined by company and department standards.
- Support the development of targeted and strategic communications collateral (e.g., Monthly dashboards, Team presentations).
- Prepare, design, and publish documents and media that are distributed to internal Motional employees and external partners and stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communications, English, or Computer Science, or a post-secondary degree in an equivalent discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- 4+ years’ experience as a technical writer
- Proven ability to write clear, concise, and user-focused technical documentation for a variety of audiences.
- Ability to quickly learn new products and tools.
- Detail-oriented, with a commitment to creating high-quality technical documentation.
- Familiarity with the software development process and version-control software.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks with tight, often simultaneous, deadlines.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and discovery skills.
- Previous experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Experience with applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Snagit, and multimedia tools.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to convey and detect communication
- The employee occasionally required to remain stationary at times for up to 50% of working time, move in designated working areas; & operate and use office equipment
