About this role

Lightmatter is seeking a motivated and experienced Cost Accountant to join our growing team. In this crucial role, you will leverage your expertise in NetSuite and cost accounting principles to support our fast-paced operations. As a key contributor, you will play an instrumental role in developing and maintaining cost accounting processes, analyzing financial data, and providing actionable insights to optimize costs. Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain cost accounting processes in NetSuite tailored to semiconductor and hardware manufacturing processes.
  • Establish and manage standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead; track and report variances.
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to understand project scope, timelines, and resource allocation for accurate cost modeling.
  • Analyze historical costs, provide actionable insights, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Own the monthly/quarterly cost forecasting process and ensure alignment with the overall financial plan.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes, reporting, and automation.
  • Participate in month-end and quarter-end close processes,and provide monthly inventory and cost variance analysis reports.
  • Prepare quarterly inventory reserve analysis.
  • Conduct inventory valuation and reconciliation, including cycle counts and obsolescence reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to scale cost accounting processes as the company grows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of cost accounting experience, with 5 of those years in the semiconductor industry
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work with complex datasets within Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in cost accounting for pre-IPO high-growth technology or semiconductor companies.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting standards (e.g., GAAP).


We offer competitive compensation. The base salary range for this role determined based on location, experience, educational background, and market data.

Salary Range

$115,000$140,000 USD
